Our Family

We are Dan and Nicole. We have been married for 14 years now. We now have 4 beautiful children. We knew we would add to our family through adoption but I don’t think either of us thought we would do it twice in one year! Emmali only joined our family 12 short months ago. When we went to China last time, we had waited for over two years, this time, we found our son first and then beganto to paperchase for him. Hopefully, we will find ourselves in China about a year from the time we were last there. I warned you in our last website, on the “about our family” page, we would be back, we would do it again, I just didn’t think it would be this soon :)! And I have to say, I did not think it would be for 2 boys. That thought never crossed my mind. Oh but the blessing of the addition of two. We are truly blessed, this is not a common experience, in fact it is quite rare, and we are thankful for the great opportunity!

Ellessa: She is the oldest of the bunch. She turned 12 this summer and boy are we loving that. She is such a huge help and I am sure she will be the ultimate babysitter! She is an animal lover and the care taker of the 3 dogs here! She loves her audio books and can spend hours on end listening to a good book. She has done so exceptionally well with the recent addition of her littlest sister I know that adding her brothers at this point will be cake walk for her!

Evan: I have yet to see anyone so excited about the addition of another little boy to our family, no one has been more excited than Evan , no one! Can you blame him? He is in a sea of girls and welcomes the idea of having another little boy in the house! Imagine his excitement when he found out there would be two brothers and not just one! He turned 9 this summer. He is still into Star Wars and legos, he loves to ride his bike, and is by far the easiest of the bunch! He is so easy going and simply wonderful to be with .

Eden: She is such a wonderful little girl. And she is, all girl. Often this little one asks for dresses and matching sippy cups to go with those dresses. She keeps us on our toes! She is a pure delight and has also adjusted well to not being the youngest and welcoming a little sister in the home. I can only imagine what she will be like with another or two who is younger for her to “mother”. She will be 6 this winter.

Emmali Su: She is such a wonderful addition to our family. We love her so very much, though at times I feel as though we might be still getting to know one another. She is super excited to have another sibling, at least from what we can tell. She often says, “ijah in China” and “go get nick”, and wants to know when we will see them. I am not sure how much she understands, but I am guessing it’s way more than I give her credit for. Her new favorite thing to do is read, “Love You Like Crazy Cakes” and boy has she given me more than I thought she could ever understand. Believe me she understands a lot and does well communicating how she feels about some of those pages with out using a whole lot of words. I know she could be the one who would struggle the most with adding another, but I honestly think initially it may be hard, but that she will do just fine and excel with her brothers joining our family !! We have been paper chasing like mad and doing everything in our power to get the things that are necessary done so that we can bring our boys home. We are all very excited to welcome Elijah and Enick in to our family! Our dossier went to China on July 28, 2009.
