When I was One
I had just begun
When I was Two
I was nearly new
When I was Three
I was hardly me
When I was Four
I was not much more
When I was Five
I was just alive.
But now I am Six, I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be six now forever and ever.

Louis – December 2007
We love all kinds of music – instrumental, singing,
musical theater and rhyme!

Nathaniel – Fall 2007
Louis and I both love baseball. We saw our first minor
league game on Father’s Day: the Bowie Baysox. The MVP was
Jeff Nettles. My favorite fielding positions are Short
Stop and Second Base!

Louis solves a pattern block puzzle. Both boys love
math – “especially multiplication” says Nathaniel. And
estimation. And addition and subtraction. And number
problems – number sentences as we call them. And playing
math games. The world of numbers is both imaginary and
concrete and a regular source of fun.

Revolutionary boy ready to battle the British Redcoats.
