"The flower that blooms in
adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." ~Mulan
Logan (Chen Meng Wen) was
sent to the orphanage on December 18, 2006. His birthday was
estimated to be December 8, 2006. There was no birth note found
with him. He was named Chen Meng Wen by the orphanage. Chen is
one of the “Hundred Family Names” and all the children admitted
to this orphanage in 2006 were given this name. Meng Wen conveys
the hope that in the future he could become a sophisticated and
knowledgeable person like Mencius (Meng Zi). Mencius was a
Chinese philosopher that believed in the innate goodness of an
individual. He believed that it was society's influence – its
lack of a positive cultivating influence – that caused bad moral
character.
Logan has a cleft lip and palate III degree. He had a very
difficult time getting nutrients when he was first admitted to
the orphanage however the nannies say he adapted quickly. They
say he is a very playful boy and at the age of 5 months old they
said he would often reach for other children in the neighboring
cribs and grasp them with his hands without letting go making
other children cry! We were surprised to find out that his lip
was repaired in July 1, 2008! The doctors at the city hospital
did a great job repairing his lip and providing before and after
surgery care.
He is currently 21 months old. He eats 3 meals and 2 snacks a
day. He goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes up at 6:30am. He loves
being outdoors and he is not a picky eater! His updated
orphanage report states that he is fearless and his favorite
foods are banana, crackers and yogurt. They say is he outgoing,
extroverted and compassionate. He has 2 best friends at the
orphanage. He is currently 22 lbs and 31.5 inches tall.
Logan ‘s new name will be Logan Elijah Christian MengWen Baker.

Rescue the perishing; don't hesitate to step in and help.
If you say, "Hey, that's none of my business," will that get you
off the hook?
Someone is watching
you closely, you know- Someone not impressed with weak excuses.
