Today was our first full day in Nanjing! Last night we slept restlessly. I really thought my Ambien would work better! Evidently Kiah had slept all she needed to on the flight from Dulles to Beijing . She was pretty much awake ALL NIGHT. She wasn’t making noise but she would tap me, gently nudge me or try to talk to me, etc. She was just not ready for sleep mode. We got up at 8am to get ready for breakfast. The regular dining area is currently under construction so they were serving breakfast in another area. The breakfast was not good at all. I am hoping it is better when we get there earlier in the morning.

After we ate we walked to the local grocery store to do some shopping. We brought our stuff back to the hotel and walked the 2 blocks to a fabulous new mall that just opened! We spent hours there walking around and we ate lunch at Papa John’s!!! We then raced back to the hotel to meet our guide at 1pm for some local touring. We walked all around the local area. I had no idea how many attractions were just within walking distance of our hotel. We learned so much. I have really taken the time to absorb Nanjing . When we we re here adopting Luke I was mostly in shut-down mode dealing with Luke’s condition. I was not able to enjoy the area. I believe the Lord is giving me a second chance to fall in love with Nanjing .

Kiah is a tourist attraction herself! The locals LOVE her and she is frequently told she is a beautiful girl.

After touring we came back to the hotel for some down-time. We had decided to stay in this evening and go to bed early. We meet Logan at the Civil Affairs office at 2pm tomorrow. He is traveling from his orphanage which is 5 hours away. We have received a report that he is doing well and anxious to meet us! We are anxious too little boy!!!

We have prepared our gifts, donations and his toys. We are charging the camera and video camera.

We are so thankful to Brandon ’s parents for watching Luke, Jake and Katelyn for this first week were are here. THANK YOU SO MUCH! My parents will be watching them the 2nd week. We appreciate the wonderful assistance everyone has made towards bringing Logan home. We will always remember!!!
