Today was a great day! Last night Logan slept in his crib for almost the whole night and only woke up 2 times. We woke up about 7am. We met our guide at 9am for a full morning of touring. First, we visited the Nanjing Zoo. It was very hot today but the zoo had many shade trees which made the temperature very mild. We saw all the usual animals as well as an animal show. I have to say that I was very disturbed by the way the animals were treated and the tricks they were making them do. We spent about 2 hours at the zoo. Afterwards we visited Xuan Wu Lake. This is a very beautiful large lake in Nanjing . We visited this area briefly during our last trip to Nanjing however we didn’t get to spend much time there. Xuan Wu Lake is right next to the Nanjing Train Station which was where Luke was abandoned. We entered the Lake from the opposite side so there in the distance you could see the Train Station. I stood there looking at it from afar and I teared up immediately . We strolled through the area and stopped at a kid’s amusement park. Kiah rode of several rides and really enjoyed herself. Logan was content to sit in the stroller and eat an Oreo! He took a short nap during our stroll. We then headed back to the hotel and ate lunch and strolled through the adjacent shopping areas. We relaxed this afternoon and went to dinner at the mall.

Logan is really a sweet baby. He is very social and really enjoys being around people. He has been more open with Brandon and he enjoys playing with Kiah now. He is really warming up! Tomorrow we visit the orphanage. We are looking forward to this visit.

We have had a lot of funny moments recently. We went to KFC yesterday and they had a small kid’s area with a climbing structure and slide. Kiah started to play on the slide when several other children came into the area. A little boy about 2 years old was climbing up play structure in front of Kiah when Kiah looked up. The little boy was wearing split pants with no underwear. All Kiah saw was this little boy’s private region! She stepped back and said “Ew! Baskusting!” This same little boy kept sliding down the slide and the skin-on-slide noises sounded quite painful!

During our walk through the shopping area I spied several Wentworth Miller clothing ads! Wentworth Miller is on the TV show Prison Break which is one of my favorite shows. I made sure to get a picture of him!

Logan had a tough time falling asleep tonight. He cried for about 10 minutes. I know this will improve with time. I can’t wait to get him home and into his own bed!

We are looking forward to tomorrow as we will get to see where Logan spent the first 22 months of his life. We will also get to meet his nannies and his best friends. We hope to get some pictures of the kids waiting to come home to their families. Hold on XuZhou mommies! I hope to have some pics for you soon!

Luke, Jake and Katelyn are doing well at home with Brandon ’s parents. We miss and love them very much and we can’t wait to be reunited next week!
