hi Turiels, Your little website here gets me teary ... especially the Letter from Mommy and Daddy. It's cause I know that you don't know her yet in the flesh, and yet it's not merely your ideas, ideals and dreams you're putting into words here, it is real love God has put in your heart for a real little girl that HE knows and has planned for since before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4, below). Your love for this girl is not merely an expression of your being loving people (who would be loving regardless of who this child is). NO, it is the very real, present, concrete reality of our Father's total fascination, enamorment, in-love-with-ness toward THIS child ... Julie, the ONLY Julie Turiel He has ever made, ever, whom HE knows totally, inside and out, past, present and future (Psalm 139). He is absolutely totally thrilled with her and values her as much as the Blood of His Son, which He has paid for her long ago. And in a very real way, He has put that love He feels for her inside of you. And He's giving you the JOY that He feels, about adopting all of us (who once were so alone and distant from Him) to be His own sons and daughters! What an awesome thing to see! I LOVE God! I love His heart. God bless you guys, continue to enjoy this wonderful journey! If you read this someday Julie ... since I know our Father God is so crazy about you, since I can see the craziness for you in your Mommy's and Daddy's and brothers' eyes and smiles and hear it in their voice and stories ... I already know you're worth the wait! much love, Timothy Potter March 29, 2006 PS -- Ephesians 1:3-13 (in The Message version) may be a bit long to add to this Guestbook, but I think it's way too appropriate not to add. :) How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people--free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth. It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free--signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life. AMEN!

Dear Skip, Linda, Matthew, Mitchell and Ju-lie, I just received the link to your site this morning (from Nik), of course, everything else went on hold and I clicked immediately. It was so hard to read your comments without looking at the photos, but I did it and you know, it wasn't that difficult. Of course, I wanted to peek at the photos but you write so elegantly, Linda, it's easy to stay with you.....one can tell that your words are from the heart and of the Lord. And, though you didn't author the poem "Kisses in the Wind", it is one of the most beautiful literary works I think I have ever read. And, go leave it to you to find it (or receive it) and share it, it is absolutely beautiful, appropriate and meaningful. Great job, too, on Ju-lie's nursery, she will be very comfortable in her nursery and playroom, as well as in your lives. I spent a good part of the day, yesterday, catching up on world events (YUK, deaths, bombings, trapped miners and on and on (scarey, hurtful and alarming))......at one point during my day I reminded myself that the Lord does not put any more on us than we can handle.....and isn't He GREAT! First thing this morning I receive the blessed news of your journey, baby girl and family of five. Thank you, Father, for loving us and for these gifts. Thank you for this union and for bringing Skip, Linda, Ju-lie and all of Your other newly formed families home safely to continue their caring, loving, bonding and sharing. In Your name, Jesus, our beautiful Creator, Amen. Looks like the rest of your trip is filled with bus rides, paper signing, shopping and BONDING. I'm sure by the time you get on that plane next Friday, you will feel like Ju-lie has never been anywhere but with you.....and I'm sure by now she is calling you both Mommy and Daddy and recognizes you both to be part of the missing links in her life....Matthew and Mitchell, of course, to complete the puzzle. And, that feeling of emptiness in all of your hearts and bellies, being filled each day, more and more. This is all so fun and exciting. God Bless and have a safe and glorious time and journey home. Love, Tracy

WOW, great news on Ju-lie's acceptance and bonding....knew it wouldn't take long. Just a little rest and the opportunity to realize how loved she is....just one thought came to mind when I read your latest update this morning, "God takes care of God". Our Father, Father of the fatherless, you give your children a home in which to dwell; and like a loving mother you gather us into your household. We give you thanks for Ju-lie who has come to bless the Turiel family and for Skip, Linda, Matthew and Mitchell who have taken this child to be their own. By the power of your Holy Spirit, continue to fill Skip and Linda with trust, understanding and affection; and, through this child in our midst, enable us better to know the mystery that we are all your children by adoption; through Jesus Christ our Lord. And, Heavenly Father, watch with Skip and Linda over your child, Ju-lie, that the rattling in her chest is healed and grant that she may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Have a beautiful day. Tracy

Good day, Turiels.....by today's pictures, looks like Ju-lie is feeling better, fingers crossed. the picture of her being silly is adorable (can see her biting down on her teeth, that's goodness, she's beating it). Well, then I scrolled down to the bottom picture, how beautiful, loving Mama, OK, tears, tears and more tears, I couldn't see the screen. Thank you again for sharing this journey, what a blessing. Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of the sheep, you gather the lambs in your arms and carry them in your bosom: We commend to your loving care these children, Ju-lie and Elizabeth. Relieve Ju-lie of her stomach and teething pains and Elizabeth of her fever, guard them from all danger, restore to them your gifts of gladness and strength, and raise them up to a life of service to you. Thank you, Dear Father. Amen. Hugs and kisses from the good ole USA. Tracy

And, I would know ask, Lord Jesus Christ, by your patience in suffering, be near Debbie in her time of weakness and pain due to a twisted ankle and bruised leg; sustain her by your grace, that her strength and courage may not fail; heal Debbie according to your will. Dear God, we also thank you for the gifts of these children to their Mommies and Daddies to raise, these lives to share, these minds to help mold, these bodies to nurture, and these spirits to enrich. Let them never betray their child’s trust, dampen their child’s hope, or discourage their child’s dreams. Help them, dear God, to help their precious child become all you mean them to be. Let your grace and love fall on them like gentle breezes and give them inner strength and peace and patience for the journey ahead. Thank you, Jesus. We also ask, Father, that your Angels watch over Matthew and Mitchell and fold their wings around them and guard them with love, especially until Mom, Dad and Sister return home. Help all of these families, Dear God, be determined to rejoice in you no matter how sick, hot, sore or tired they may be. Let them be joyful in you, their Savior, no matter how hard things become. Be their Strength. Amen. Oh, yes, thank you, Lord, for resolving Ju-lie’s diaper issue and for the love and bonding between the new Dads and their babes. I have some solo piano music playing in the background while I view your pictures. It is a rare time that I have in my busy day to do this. What a blessing to see this occurrence in your family. What a blessing to see what the Lord is doing not only in your lives but the life of Ju-Lie Grace and the many others who have been abandoned but not aborted. All praises be to Him and His wonderous work. God Bless you greatly. Gary Griffieth

Dear Skip and Lynda, Though I haven't written in several days, I have been keeping up with your journal, daily, who could pass up the opportunity to share this remarkable piece of history.....wait, not just remarkable; remarkable, beautiful, admirable and significant piece of history in the Turiel book of life. Halleljah! Heavenly Father, giver of life and health, watch over Ju-lie and fix her boo boo. Grant that her little eye be restored to perfection. Also, Jesus, bless Skip and Lynda, on their 20th anniversary. Grant them continued love for each other and that they both be continually filled with faith and trust. Give them the ongoing love and grace to live in peace and harmony. May they always bear with one another's weaknesses and grow from each other's strengths. Help them to always forgive one another's failings, be patient, kind, and cheerful. Grant that they keep the spirit they have practiced over the past 20 years of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self. May the love that brought them together continue to grow with each passing year. Bring them even closer to You through their love for each other. They are a very special couple and wonderful parents who bring You glory. Watch over them during the last few days of their journey and bring them, Ju-lie and all of the other families home safely to their loved ones who have been missing them and patiently awaiting their return. Amen.

Life was so busy while we were in China, I never got to ready your website as we traveled through the days. It is 5am here in Virginia and Sam and Elizabeth are fast asleep. I so enjoyed reading over the days of our trip. It was so filled with so many wonderful memories that will last a life time. I am so glad to hear that Ju-lie is adjusting to life at home so well. I can't wait to see how our girls grow and develop over the years. Your family, and the others in our travel group, will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was such a monumental family event that we all shared together. Such a blessing! Debbie, mommy to Eliabeth (oh how long I have waited to say that!)

Hi, Let me introduce myself. I'm Freddie Remza, the author of a book that was recently published called "The Journey to Mei." It's a story told from a ten year old child's perspective as her family goes through the process to adopt a baby from China. I have found that many of the children's literature available on this topic is in the form of picture books for the younger child. This book is written for children ages 8 thru 12 and is meant to be another resource parents could use as their adopted daughter matures. It is also a book the child's siblings, cousins, neighbors, and friends can read not only to understand the adoption process, but to foster an appreciation for the Chinese culture and its traditions. You can check out my book on my website http://outskirtspress.com/thejourneytomei "The Journey to Mei" is available in both paperback and hardcopy on Amazon.com. Part of my research for this story took me to China for a month. I found this country to be especially intriguing and the people very friendly. It's my hope to spread what I learned and experienced on to others with hopes all of America's Chinese daughters are raised with the pride of knowing who they are. Hope all is well with your family and my congratulations! I am sure all the frustrations of waiting all faded once you held your child!
