BAO TEMPLE AND SHOPPING
This is a short update today as our little one has been out of
sorts.
She is cutting teeth, at least two we can see. And she has not
had a,
um, “messy” diaper in two days. In addition or perhaps as a
result
of
this she seems to be having some Daddy fear. While I know this
will not
last, we are sad as she has seemed to be giving equal loves and
kisses
to both of us. So, our focus is on healing and bonding at the
moment.
Our visit to the Bao Temple was very interesting. The grounds
are
beautiful and it is very peaceful there. Dad, you would love the
wood
carving done in the mosaic. I cannot imagine how long it must
have
taken to create! After our visit to the temple, three families
decided
to take the babies out for a little shopping excursion. Mostly
to get
some necessities, but also to perhaps find a treasure for the
babies.
Shopping in Hefei makes one feel like you are a bit of a
celebrity.
Everyone stares, points and does double takes. I don’t know if
it is
because we are Americans or because we have a Chinese baby,
likely
both.
PRAYERS: that our little one
will recover from the constipation and
teething pain. That we all can tolerate the oppressive heat
tomorrow as
we venture out to the zoo. The heat and humidity here is
literally like
wearing a sweater in August.
PRAISES: for all our family and friends at home who are
caring for our
sons and Dad. Also, for the wonderful, caring messages in our
guest
book. We feel so loved. Keep them coming! Baby Elizabeth is
doing much
better today, your prayers were quite effective. Thank you.
FUN FACT FOR THE DAY: The most memorable moment was in
Walmart when one
of the Dads was pushing the shopping cart with his daughters
baby doll
in it. An American doll that is. And another shopper came up to
his
cart and poked it to see if it was real! Once she realized it
was a
doll she laughed, feeling rather silly. We all laughed too and
moved
on. |
