About Andrew

Basic Information:

Weight: 22 lbs (from July 2009)
Height: 87 cm tall (2 feet, 8 inches)

Yes…he is tiny. He is described as being active, restless, energetic and extroverted. He loves playing with toy cars. It says in his paper work “in a word he is a lovely boy.”

We were fortunate to find someone on line who met Andrew in 2007 when they adopted their son and again in January 2009. This is what she had to say about him: When we went to adopt our son that little boy followed us around the room. He was the cutest little guy and was very petite, and all smiles and friendly. My husband and I were both taken by him, and remarked how we thought he was the cutest little guy and that we would love to be able to adopt him. My son was having a real hard time that afternoon, understandably, and didn't want to go near us, but that little boy was right next to us, trying to communicate with us, he was so precious, we just couldn't get over him.

Fast forward a year and a half later, this past January, I got to visit the CWI and stay for a few hours. To my huge disappointment, that sweetest little boy was still there. I felt really heartbroken that he was not adopted. What struck me in January was he still looked very healthy, adorable, etc., but I just felt that orphanage living had suppressed his beautiful little outgoing spirit. He didn't walk up to me, he wasn't all smiles. Not to say he looked bad at all, but I just remember how bubbly he was a year and a half earlier. He just really needed a family.

We can’t wait to get him home!

American Name: Andrew Matthew LinShi
Big brother Luke chose the name Andrew for his little brother. Matthew after his daddy.
LinShi to honor her Chinese heritage.

Where is he? He is in Shanghai. This region is known as the Paris of the east. It is a very modern city and a hub of business in China. Andrew’s orphanage is one of the “model” orphanages in China. It is used to tour foreign dignitaries. It is a very large facility.

When will Andrew come home?
We are now finishing our paperwork. We hope to have Andrew home by next summer.
