Dear Ping-Ping,
Right now you are too young to read this but as you grow
and learn someday you will have this to look back on and
understand how we came together to build our little
family. When I was a little girl I always said I wanted to
adopt a baby from China and my dream has finally come
true. I can only believe that God has answered my prayers
with the gift of you. My new hope is that I will be able
to share with you how God has touched my life and
connected so many people in so many places to help join us
as a family. You are my little Ping-Ping and I will love
you forever.
The day I heard you were going to be my daughter I laughed
and cried at the same time. I was told you were adorable.
When I finally set my eyes on your picture I had to agree
that you were adorable, but also beautiful to the core. It
was no surprise to me that you would be wearing yellow…the
same color as the butterfly I saw the day I sent
my letter to adopt. It was four years ago and now we
finally will be a family. In your pictures I can see that
you are happy, curious and determined. I know that you are
so special already!
It took a few days to receive the English version of your
Chinese documents but when I read them I knew that we were
supposed to be together. You love music and you love to
sing, your caretakers wrote. They also said you were a
very healthy baby and were already standing up at one
year! They think in no time you will be walking. It is no
surprise to me that your caretakers described you as
social, friendly, extroverted and you get along well with
others. This is what your caretakers said about you,
“Ping-Ping is a lovely and outgoing girl! We feel happy
when we see her”. I’m so glad to see that you are fond of
picture books and can turn the pages. We will have fun
reading and playing games together.
What made me smile was when I read that your favorite toy
was a bear and you enjoyed snacking on cookies and milk. I
promise you we will have many “tea parties” with our bears
and enjoy cookies and milk together.
What’s really special is that you have so many people who
love you already. You have people all over the world
caring for you in so many different ways and I can’t wait
to tell you all the stories of love that have been poured
out because of you. There is so much to tell you already
about what a special baby you are and I can’t wait to
share it all with you! I am so thankful to all of our
friends and family who have watched our family build and I
know they love you so much already Ping –Ping. You are
loved half-way around the world and back again!
I’m looking forward to the day when I can pick you up and
hold you in my arms.
I Love You Ping-Ping,
MaMa |

She’s
a Butterfly, Martina McBride
She remembers when she first got her wings
And how she opened up that day
she learned to sing
Then the colors came, erased the
black and white
And her whole world changed
when she realized
(Chorus:)
She's a butterfly, pretty as the crimson sky
Nothing's ever gonna bring her down
And everywhere she goes
Everybody knows she's so glad to be alive
She's a butterfly
Like the purest light in a darkened world
So much hope inside such a lovely girl
You should see her fly, it's almost magical
It makes you wanna cry, she's so beautiful
(Chorus)
God bless the butterfly,
give her the strength to fly
Never let her wings touch the ground
God bless the butterfly,
give her strength to fly
Never let her wings touch the ground
(Chorus)
God bless the butterfly,
give her the strength to fly
Never let her wings touch the ground
God bless the butterfly,
give her the strength to fly
Never let her wings touch the ground |
“Babies are
such a nice way to start people.”
-Don Herold
I received a
fortune cookie when I first started this process and it
said,
“Your dreams are never silly.
Depend on them to guide
you.”
My wish for you is to always follow your dreams.
