Our Adoption Process

Well it has been a long 3 years and 4 months since we officially entered the waiting phase to adopt our little girl known as AnnaGrace or lovingly referred to as “Sister” by the boys.

If everything goes as planned, we will be able to announce our referral sometime in later this month- July 2009. We will then travel to China to finalize our adoption 6-8 weeks later.

Our adoption journey has been incredibly long and emotional. We extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our friends and family whom have supported us through all of the ups and downs of our journey.

The adoption process and how it works.

First

Every family is assigned a log-in-date (LID) when paperwork is received in China.
Our LID is 3/22/2006

Our LID is 3/22/2006 and every4-6 weeks China will match a family to the baby they have requested. Example -Girl less than 12 months etc…

Second

Referral- this is when we get the picture of AnnaGrace (this is the phase we are in - (YEAH).

We have been approved to adopt a healthy baby Girl, 12 months or younger or as young as possible.

The next set of referrals, which should be in about 4 weeks or so, should include March 22, 2006.

So, it is so exciting that they have just matched or referred babies to families with LID of March 20,2006.

There is the remote possibility that China only gets to March 21, 2006 but it is more likely they will get to March 22,2006.

So, keep the prayers coming for AnnaGrace, that she is being cared for well, while she waits for us her forever Family in China!!

Third

Travel to China to Bring AnnaGrace home.

My mother and I will be going to China while Doug and the boys wait for us to come home.

We will be in China for 10-14 days.

Approximately two days after arriving in China we go and get AnnaGrace from the orphanage or foster home where she has been living.

The several days after getting her we will spend getting documents done as well as a Doctor visit for her before she leaves for the United States. When she arrives in the US she will be considered a US citizen.
