Today we confirmed our desire to adopt Ava at the Hubei Civil Affairs office. She is opening up with us more. We see the same happy and assertive actions she displayed with her care givers yesterday. After the morning appointment we came back to the hotel for nap time. I ventured out into the torrential rains here for some hair pretties and squeaky shoes. I returned with the bounty, but soaked to the bone. This place makes Seattle seem like Death Valley, CA. Perhaps you have seen some of the news reports about the flooding in multiple Provinces in China. There is no flood danger in Wuhan, but it is certainly wet. It's about 7:15PM here now. We just returned from a restaurant close by where we had a nice dinner with Richard. Michelle is now getting Ava ready for the nightly 3 B's (Bath, Bottle, Bed).

Tomorrow I will get up early to travel by train to Xiangfan City about 3 hours train ride Northwest of Wuhan. I will meet with the orphanage director and see where Ava lived the past two years. I also plan to go to Ava's finding spot and chronicle that part of her history for posterity. Michelle will stay in Wuhan with Ava and continue to build the mother daughter relationship. I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story.

Good night from Wuhan.
