Trip to China

We will be traveling within China for a little over two weeks to bring Avery home. Matthew and Ethan will be staying with their grandparents. While we are in China, we will post pictures and updates here. We plan to post something every day while we are there. We are thrilled to have you share this experience with us! THE PLANNED ITINERARY ** Dates and times are China dates and times (except when indicated). ** China is 14 hours ahead of Chicago. November 26th Fly to Beijing departing at 12:43 PM - Chicago Time (13 1/2 hour flight) November 27th Arrive in Beijing at 4:25 P.M. November 28th Take tours and visit local sights as time permits (Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, etc.) November 29th Depart for Taiyuan, Shanxi (Avery's City) at 1:25 PM. November 30th Gotcha Day! We get to meet Avery at 9:30 AM! December 1st Appointment at Civil Affairs Office in Taiyuan; Notary and Passport applications. December 2nd Take tours and visit local sights. December 3rd Take tours and visit local sights. December 4th Pickup notary papers and Avery's passport. December 5th Fly to Guangzhou at 8:40 AM. The US Consulate is in Guangzhou. December 6th Paperwork and visit local sights and shopping. December 7th Visa Picture, Medical Exam, and visit local sights and shopping. December 8th Consulate Appointment for Visa application. December 9th Oath Taking Ceremony at Consulate. December 10th Receive Visas and visit local sights and shopping. December 11th Pack for Home December 12th Bus to Hong Kong leaves at 5:00 AM Depart Hong Kong at 11:40 AM Arrive Chicago 11:41 AM - Chicago Time
