MAY-AUGUST 2007
So much has happened since we started Brianna’s website in
March. First, we moved from Department One (the Reviewing Room)
into Department Two (the Matching Room) on June 21, 2007. This
means we are in the Department where we will finally be matched
with our dear daughter, Brianna. Although it appears we still
have a long wait ahead of us, we are pleased to say that we are
the 21st LID (log in date) in line to be matched. The CCAA just
completed matching November 21, 2005 LID’s. Our LID date is
April 24, 2006. The current wait time from LID to Referral is
approximately 21 months.
In June we were blessed with adding not just one new family
member but a dozen new family members when Brianna’s Uncle Mike
and Aunt Krissi were married. Krissi is the sister I never had
and we couldn’t be luckier to have her and her family join ours.
Yesterday we officially met Lisa and Tim who are in their
adoption journey for their very first child who they will name
Quinlyn. We met our cyber-friends through our adoption agency’s
website. Immediately, we clicked and have kept in close contact.
It was so nice to finally meet Lisa and Tim in person. Lisa and
Tim have played a key support role in our life as we continue
with the winding road of adoption. To follow Quinlyn’s Adoption
Journey, please visit: www.journeytoquinlyn.blogspot.com . I
must say that as Lisa and I sat and spoke about the ins and outs
of adoption, it became clear that we will remain friends long
after we are matched with our miracles, Quinlyn and Brianna.
Quinlyn is a very lucky girl to have such loving and
compassionate parents.
In May we had to re-fingerprint and last week we requested
Homeland Security to provide us with an extension to our current
approval. Since the waiting period for the adoption is rising,
we (and many other families) are finding that our paperwork and
fingerprints are expiring long before our trip to China. Our new
fingerprint expiration date is August 2008. Our extension from
Homeland Security will most likely expire in August 2008 as
well. We can only hope and pray that we have our daughter in our
arms before everything expires 2008. If not, then we will find
ourselves (for the third time) getting fingerprinted, needing an
updated Home Study, police checks, and Homeland Security
approval.
We want to express
our sincere appreciation to our friends and family for the
emotional support given to us. Your support and the anticipation
of holding Brianna for the first time keeps us going.
Until next time, enjoy the pictures and keep praying for a fast
referral to our dear daughter, Brianna. |
