Hannah's Page

We received our referral on January 6, 2006. We were very excited after waiting for 14 months for that call. That is from the beginning process to the referral date. We waited patiently at home on January 7 for the UPS man to bring our very precious baby’s pictures for us to see. We fell in love immediately and were so thankful our time of waiting had come to an end. We were excited to discover our Hannah had been in a Foster home. She went to live in a foster home when she was about 3 months. It was apparent that her mother cared deeply for her, as tissues and a red bottle were found with the baby. I know how very difficult it must have been for her to leave her. She left her in a very obvious place so she could be found, at the gate of Yuanling County Civil Affairs office.

Her Chinese name is Yuan Chen. In southern language that’s pronounced, "U ann Chin".

According to her adoption report, she is very happy, and healthy. She talks in her baby language non - stop. She likes T.V. and likes to listen to music, while clapping her hands, and twisting her body to the rhythm. She already likes to shop. I know she is my girl now.

We can’t wait to see her. We leave for China on March 3rd. For everyone out there, we will be home on March 16, and Hannah will have the great opportunity to meet her very numerous cousins, aunt and uncles, and her name sake. She will be one of most blessed adoptee, because she will have such a wonderful and big family, that I know are going to cherish her as much as we do.

Happy Birthday Hannah!
She is currently One year old. Her birthday was February 2, 2005. Of course, we were very sad we missed her 1st birthday, but we had a little family party here on that day. We said prayers for her, and only hoped she could feel our love across the ocean. Jeff reminded me several times, that I would have all the other birthdays. We did send Hannah a package, for her birthday to China, but we do not know if she received it in time.

Baby Shower
On February 3, 2006, Grandma, Aunt Jessica, Aunt Carol and sister Kristin threw us a beautiful baby shower! It was decorated in lady bugs and was oh-so-cute! We were showered with many gifts and blessings for Hannah. All of our family and friends are already in love with her!
