September 2009
Wow! The time has flown by! We have had a great summer and now
are busy back in school! Leah is now 19 months old and weighs 21
pounds. She is a bundle of energy and we are enjoying keeping up
with her! She is walking and climbing all over the place. She is
talking nonstop and has a large vocabulary. She is beginning to
put words together and say things like: "open it" or "have it."
She copies everything she hears and repeats it back to you or
sometimes she just repeats it over and over and over!
We have had some wonderful moments as a family over the past
months. A few highlights include:
-Leah's baptism in March. Her grandfather baptized her and we
had lots of family there with us to celebrate
-Leah's first Easter and egg hunt
-Leah's first road trip/vacation. We first visited Pigeon Forge
and our friends the Millwoods who traveled with us to China. We
got to see how much their little girl, Lucy, had grown. It was
fun to see the two girls together again. And Logan and Olivia's
friendship struck back up where it left off in Dec. We are
hoping to make this a yearly tradition. Then it was on to Myrtle
Beach for some fun in the sun. Leah liked the sand and sort of
liked the ocean. She was wary of it at first. She really liked
floating down the lazy river at our hotel. We got to visit more
friends, the Kuebitz family, before coming home.
Leah loves music and tries to sing "Twinkle twinkle little
star." She starts with "up above da da da da, like a da da da da
da." At least that's what it sounds like to us! She also likes "Ee
Ii Ee Ii Ee Ii Ee Oo" as she calls "Old MacDonald."
Logan continues to be a good big brother. He likes to get Leah
to chase him and Leah gets so tickled as she chases him around!
He is in second grade and is playing flag football for the first
time. He seems to be enjoying it so far and it seems like he
will be playing as center.
