HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
We are finally able to post as we were waiting for Allie and
Gardner to get home from college for their Thanksgiving break.
They finally got to meet their sister. She is all smiles for her
sisters and brothers.
Our trip home went very well as far as traveling for 27 hours
goes. We made all our connecting flights and got all our luggage
and for that alone we are thankful. We are so overcome with
gratitude for our God as He answered every prayer we prayed for
Madeline and for our travels. He has shown us great mercy and we
are so thankful.
Madeline continues to be her happy self. She has slept through
the night for the past 2 nights so she is officially on our time
:) We have all gotten over our jetlag, it was much easier coming
home than it was going to China for myself, Julianne and John
David. Hank and Madeline had a different experience :)
This adoption has been such a growing experience for all of us.
We look at Madeline and can’t believe that God took us around
the world to get her yet it seems like she has always been with
us. I was looking back over her pictures from the orphanage the
other day and it broke my heart to see her in her crib with an
expression on her face that I know so well now. It is hard to
believe that she grew up for so many months without us, yet is
now this happy, laughing sweet child. We are so thankful for her
nannies who obviously gave her such great care. We know that she
was loved and as well cared for as possible in an orphanage.
Now we will start the process of raising her the best we can
with God’s help and guidance. It is so appropriate that we were
able to bring her home near Thanksgiving as we have so much to
be thankful for. If God had answered my prayers for my timeline
in this adoption we would not have our Madeline, I tear up
thinking that we may not have had her. She is so special. Thank
you for following our journey and for praying for our family.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
