REFERRAL DAY!
I can't believe we finally have our referral!!!
We had our friends join us for the phone call from CCAI. During
the 27 months we waited for our daughter, we met and made great
friends with 7 other families, who have shared in our laughter
and tears. We wanted them with us when we met our daughter for
the first time. We also had a very close neighbor and friend
join us for our exciting moment!
The call from CCAI came at 12:30 p.m. It was Andrea Gerome in
the Match Department.
Claire's Chinese name is Ge Ke Jing. Her last and middle name do
not have any meanings, however, the Jing means 'the girl with
virtue and abilities'.
The First thing she told us was that Claire is 5 1/2 years
old!!!! Her birthdate is April 4, 2002
She is gorgeous!
We will be going to The Beijing Children's Welfare
Institute to get her, hopefully
in the next 5-7 weeks.
The only information we have is that she is very fond of
imitating.......
We are so excited to meet our little girl!!!!!!

Sunday, November 18th
We requested a lot of information about Claire (Ge
Ke Jing) from the orphanage. As new questions arise,
we will keep sending lists of questions to our
Agency, in the hopes we will be able to get as much
information as possible about our little girl!
The most recent info included her updated
measurements: As of November 9, 2007, Claire is 35
lbs and 41 inches .
She has been attending a boarding preschool, where
she lives during the week, and returns to the SWI
(social welfare institute) for the weekends.
Apparently, she has not been in school very
long.....she is not reading, but, does speak
Mandarin. They have been trying to teach her simple
English words!
At this point she is not aware she is being adopted,
they are waiting for our package to arrive with the
photo book we sent her, and then they will show her
all the photos, and explain who we are......
Her favorite food is apple, but, she will eat all
kinds of foods.
Her favorite activities are playing with toy bricks
(I am planning to get some wooden block sets ......
), dolls, playing games with other children and
simple computer games!
We have been lucky enough to hear from quite a few
people who have adopted children out of the same
Beijing SWI. We have photos of the SWI, and it looks
clean, and well supplied. The computer room looks
bright and cheerful. We were so pleased to receive
those photos!! Any information we can get about
where our daughter is from is priceless to us. |

BABY PHOTOS OF CLAIRE
(posted from Beijing on December 18, 2007)

“I am so special, I have been from the start.
Before they held me in their arms, my family held me in their
hearts.
And like a single drop of rain that on still waters fall,
My life and love will make ripples and touch the lives of all.
So read this precious story as step by step I grow.
I am a blessing and a gift, as each page here will show.”
