Our beautiful baby girl was born on February 10, 2005. We received her referral on November 10, 2005, on her nine-month birthday. Happy birthday dear daughter! “Although we are not with you today, we will spend a life time of birthdays together! Brooke is so beautiful. She has very delicate, dainty features and such a sweet angelic face. She has little dimples at her wrists and her legs are long and slender. Brooke’s Chinese name is Nan, Xian An. As is customary and traditional in our faith, we will name our daughter in memory of loved ones who have passed away and who will watch over her from heaven above. We have chosen Alana as her middle name in memory of her Uncle Alvin whom we lost in 9-11. She is also named in memory of her beloved Grandpa Bernie who passed away on Thanksgiving Day just one week ago. Grandpa was so supportive of this adoption and held on until he saw a picture of his granddaughter. He was so proud of her and kept her photograph near. Just days later he passed away. We truly believe he waited to see that beautiful photograph of his granddaughter. Brooke was his first granddaughter having three grandsons already.  We know he is watching over her now until she can come home to Mommy and Daddy. Brooke is waiting for us in Maoming in the Maonan District SWI in Guangdong Province.  At birth she was 51 cm in height and 3.2 kg in weight. She has been looked after by her caregiver and has been developing nicely. She has had milk formula for the first three months and then was supplemented with rice powder and various fruit and vegetable juices. Brooke loves to be outdoors in the sunshine laughs out loud and likes to listen to adult conversation. She also likes music, likes to play with toys and smiles a lot.  Boy oh boy – she is so much like me already. Brooke can hold her head up, roll, grasp toys, sit alone and stand with support.
