Our Family

We are Dan and Nicole. We have been married for 13 years and have been blessed with three wonderful children. We have felt for a while that our family would begin to be completed through adoption and that God was leading us to adopt our next child, a daughter, from China. We decided to start the process to adopt in March of 2006. It has been a long emotional journey. Only God knows where and when for the next time! (yes we will do it again) Ellessa is our oldest daughter, now 11. She is a loving, wonderful older sister. She is the animal lover in the family. She enjoys audio books, church, and helping out at home. She absolutely can’t wait for her little sister to be home. Always asking, always wanting to know when and how the next step will be done! Evan is the only boy as of now, he is 8. He is the most sensitive sweet boy. He loves all things Star Wars, and really enjoys legos! He is into sports and has already worn out a big wheel or two! He is such a helpful, wonderfully pleasant addition to our family. I am not sure how he really feels about adding another sister, but seems to be truly excited! Eden is the youngest, though not for too much longer. She is older than Emmi Su by about 2 months. Eden is 4! She is the busiest of the bunch so far. She is all girl, and loves princess type things and dresses. We have been talking about her little sister since she was 2, so she doesn’t remember us not talking about her. In fact, once we received our referral she asked me a few days later, “are you sure she is real?”. I often wonder what she is really thinking, she must think we are crazy, after all, we have been talking about this for so long. I think we all feel that way, just a little, is this really happening?? We are waiting with great excitement and anticipation to bring Emmi Su home. We hardly wait alone. In addition to our family, we have tons of support from our extended family and friends. Emmi Su not only has a mom, dad, big sisters and big brother who love her already, but she will also be surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are just as eager to meet her as we are. We can hardly wait!
