Comments: Hi, We are a fellow AWAA family waiting for "the call". We have been following you guys and 6 of your travel buddies as well. Please know that your daily bloggings have been inspirational and are invaluable for those of us still in the waiting process! Blessings to you guys! Shari M Humble, TX LID 9/28/06
Comments: I have been watching your journey, and am so excited for your family. Emmali, your are beautiful and I cannot wait to meet you. Your cousin Charlie thinks you are pretty great too. He can't wait to play with you and Eden! You guys are in my prayers. I love you!
Comments: Emmali is so beautiful! I'm glad you made it to Guangzhou okay - I always thought Guangzhou is the "easy" part of the trip! Make sure you head over to Lucy's restaurant on Shamian Island. They have real iced tea and really great grilled cheese sandwiches with fries!
Comments: Can't wait to hear more about your trip when ya get home. After you sleep it off. After your arms, neck and back recover, After you get to hug on your kids back home. Hope the rest of your trip goes great.
Comments: Hey there - I'm really enjoying the pictures of Emmali and Chongqing! I'm jealous too - we didn't get to tour Chongqing that much, just around our hotel. It seems that you saw some really great sites! Emmali is so cute and so tiny - she looks like a rock star in those glasses! For the high chair issue - we have been using a high chair/booster seat combo for Ethan at home, which works great. It just straps onto a regular chair, and comes with a tray to make feeding easier. You may want to look into that option when you get home. Enjoy your time there and take tons of pictures!
Comments: Hello from a fellow AWAA Columbus family! Have been following your journey to Emmali - she looks so happy with her new family! Best wishes on your journey and enjoy your time in China - there's nothing like it! God Bless, Tina
Comments: Sniff...sniff...you guys made me cry! And I wasn't there just for the photos! I LOVE "your story"! You both write so well! The pics are a bonus! She's precious! Congratulations and PRAISE THE LORD!!! More love and prayers, C&G
Comments: I see the fake hair is gone and love the too little piggies that sprouted up! Adoption day photos are great....I can see so much happiness in her face!
Comments: Nicole - She is beautiful! Things are going very well over here as well - I guess we weren't so crazy after all! Can't wait to meet her in person in Guangzhou. Susan
Comments: Oh, She is so beautiful!!! I'm glad you're all doing so well! Blessings, Tonya
Comments: She's adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments: Love her Ps:....David wanted to know how to get a piece of chocolate to her. He also wanted to know if Eden was going to have him marry her.
Comments: I bet I have looked at her pictures 50 times today!!!
Comments: Welcome, Emmali Su! How great it is to see you with your new daughter. I'm so happy for all of you and glad to hear that everything is going well. She is adorable!
Comments: he is so precious! I so cried at work and Praise God that the bond that He put there before you arrived is growing! I love the pictures and love hearing about her. The fake hair cracked me up! But oh how much the foster family loved her to make sure she felt good about herself! If I need to do any shopping before you return, let me know.....I'll be glad to go to whole foods, etc and get what you need!!
Comments: I can't believe you have your daughter in your arms now! I am so happy - crying here at work, reading your website, my coworkers thinking I am nuts! I can't believe she remembers Ethan too... That is so great! I hope you are all doing well, and we are thinking of you!
Comments: Oh, what fun it was this morning to see pictures of you with your sweet little girl. Just precious! I will be praying that the transition continues to be a smooth one!! God bless! Laurie L (AWAA WC list)
Comments: So excited for you! Know that I am praying for you! Blessings, Jenn Gager AWAA
Comments: Nicole, your feelings are so expected. The unknown of everything can be overwhelming. I was the same way with both of my children's adoptions, and just kept thinking "What the hell are we doing???" It will get better - it just takes time and faith. Once you and Emmisu get to know each other, it will come!
Comments: Oh, everything your feeling is so normal! I too had the very same feelings and I must admit I even had them for a couple of days after our Metcha Day. We've been home for 9 months and couldn't be happier! The emotions will get the better of you but that's what being a new parent does to you. Enjoy your labor for it's about to come to an end and a new journey is about to begin. Praying for you all. Blessings, Cheri (AWAA mom)
Comments: I think it is SO normal to feel like you are...part of it is exhaustion but of then it is all of the days, months, years have led up to this moment and it is overwhelming. It will all disappear when she is in your arms. CANT WAIT! Sharon
Comments: Nicole, I think every adoptive mom know exactly how you feel right now. It's such an exciting time but of course you're nervous. That's normal! I'm sure as soon as you lay eyes on your daughter all those nerves will settle. You have many people lifting you, Dan and Emmali Su, up in prayer. Remember the Lord has orchestrated this whole event....He is the one who has brought you all together! I'm glad you made it safely and I'm so looking forward to your next post with Emmail in your arms! "Quiet my mind Lord make me still before you, calm my restless heart Lord, make me more like you" That song is going through my mind right now....thought I'd share : ) Praying for that little Emmali Su..... In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. This is her last night sleeping in an orphanage without her dad and mom! Praise the Lord! Praying the Lord will calm your nerves and you'll be able to sleep, Tonya
Comments: I'm finally getting to sign in! Busy as usual here...but so enjoying your journey! What would we have done without the internet?!?!?! I love all the the pictures and stories! I'm so excited to see the pictures of the 3 of you in China! We just got our electric back from the wind storm...Isaac came and got our generator as they will proably be out of electric for a few days!
Comments: Saw your pictures on the Great Wall and reminded me how breathless and shaky my legs were. You asked what the sign on the Great wall said. "Preserve cultural items, do not urinate here". We witnessed people did that on the street (adult and toddlers), so it's no surprises seeing such sign in most public places. We also found our daughter on the "wait list", and she has been part of us over 2 years. She is precious and we are so glad to be her parents. Enjoy your time with your daughter in China, it will be priceless.
Comments: Watching your journey with great pleasure! Very excited for you and will be thinking of you as the days carry on!
Comments: Just read your journal about your road to Emmi, what a wonderful thing He has done. Our journey started out very different than where we are now, home 5 months with our 3 yr old (as of today!) SON.....he is absolutely amazing and meant for us from the beginning of time!!! Can't wait to check in on Forever Family Day and see that darling in your arms! Sharon
Comments: I know I shouldn't be, but I'm laughing thinking about how your legs will feel like jello by the end of the day
I hope you have a wonderful day today! We loved the church service and it was so awesome to see and climb the Wall! Can't wait to get up and read your post in the morning! Love from Maine, Tonya
Comments: It is so exciting seeing you over there in China! I can't wait to see Emmi Su in your arms! Have fun touring! It is so awesome to experience your daughter's homeland! Soak it all in! Looking forward to following the rest of your journey! Blessings!!!
Comments: Whoo-hoo! I am following your journey with great anticipation. I cannot wait to see your beautiful daughter in your arms. Praying and waiting...Big hugs!!
Comments: Yeah!!! You made it!!!
Praying for you, Tonya
Comments: Glad to hear you made it there safe and sound. Looking forward to hearing more updates and a safe return with your daughter! Have fun!
Comments: I am keeping you in my thoughts as you start your journey! The flight and jet lag are bad, but a good night's sleep and tons of water will help. Just try to stay in the sun as much as possible to get your inner clock readjusted to days/nights. Have fun touring - I hear Beijing is amazing!
Comments: We love you guys and cannot wait to meet the next Rohler!! It seems like so long ago when we started this journey! I am praying for your travels and for everything to go smooothly while down there getting everythign squared away. I sure hope Em likes ladybugs, because God knows shes going to have to see a LOT when she gets home!! (that was just for a little laugh from Nicole.) I miss you guys and I hope that when you arrive home we can meet you at the airport, if not we will get to see you soon, and I cant wait! I have prayed for this little girl almost as long as I prayed for Isaiah....and cant wait to hug her and tell her I already love her!! Im just so excited for you guys!! All of our love and prayers, the Nipperts
Comments: I just love your story of how God brought you to your precious new daughter!!! It is amazing how His plan is not always ours, but always right!!! Blessings to you as you travel to bring her home!!!!! What a gift for ALL of you! Enjoy this amazing time! There are no words to describe what lies ahead. It is truly a miracle! I look forward to seeing Emmi in your arms soon! Diana Journey To Mei Mei, Ruby Mei (May 2007)
Comments: It's time to go!!! Praise God! Hallelujah! God is good!!! Etc., etc., etc.!!! We'll be praying that this will be a most excellent adventure for you from beginning to "new beginning", as you travel to your divine appointment to meet your little Miss Emmisu, to bless and to be blessed, to join your lives and your hearts together! Tell her we said, “Ye Su ai ni, Emmisu” [pronounced “yea soo eye knee"-- Jesus loves you, Emmisu!] We love you guys! Have a TON of FUN!!!
Comments: I liked how you said you didn't get "the call" like most other people do. We had the same thing happen to us when we found our daughter on the "left-over" e-mail sent out after referral calls were made last summer and two children were "left over." God knew, though, who our daughter would be - just like he knew who your daughter would be! Looking forward to reading about your adventures in China! Love, Angie (AWAA mom)
Comments: Hi Nicole! I am with AW too... just got our referral and am just now having a chance to get to everyones websites!!! God is so Good to those that are faithful to Him!!! She is just a cutie and what a blessing she is in foster care and has been with the same family since such a young age. I am sure she will flourish! I am looking forward to watching your journey and praying for your beautiful new daughter and your family. Many blessings to you! Faithfully in Him, Dawn Waiting for Leah DOR 8.17.08

It is a great age!!.Zoe had no adjustment issues and at 4 months home was speaking fluent English. Love how you found her, but really she found you.Its amazing how God places all the pieces in the right order for us to find. Feel free to email me with any questions or visit or blog http://www.bringingzoehome.blogspot.com I hope that your wait goes quickly and that you have her in your arms soon.. peace and happiness Bonnie
Comments: My husband and I traveled to China in January to get our precious little girl. She is from Fuling too! Feel free to email me with any questions about the area. You will find EVERYTHING you need when you stay in Chongqing. I will be praying for your family. lori
Comments: Congratulations on the upcoming adoption of your precious daughter, Emmi Sue. We especially enjoyed you telling about the unexpected way you found your daughter. We felt the same way when we saw our little Philip's picture (Journey to Philip) for the first time. Isn't it amazing how God has a better plan? God bless you in your journey to your daughter. Janet, Kevin, Ted, and Philip
Comments: Emmi Su is just beautiful! I can't wait to follow your journey to China and back! You are one blessed family! Love to you all! Julie
Comments: Congratulations on the wonderful news of your precious new daughter! I enjoyed reading every bit of what you wrote in the "About Emma Su" section... it brought me to tears! Isn't it funny how we think we have everything all mapped out in our heads, and then God leads us down an entirely different path...and it's then we finally realize His was the perfect path for us anyway!? We hope to adopt a little girl from China in the future; but until then, I am adicted to reading about others' adoption journeys....especially those of fellow-Christians! God bless you and your family on the journey ahead... I look forward to following your blog as you travel to China to bring home your sweet "Emma Su" ! All the Best! <>< ~Tanya
Comments: Your Emmi Su is absolutely beautiful! Your entry "about Emmi Su " brought me to tears (joyful tears) may God bless you all. I'll be following you on your journey to your sweet girl. Congratulations! Bryan & Melinda Lid: 2-16-06 for Chloe

Comments: Nicole, I too have a precious girl from China. My Eliza Grace is also 4 years old. Tears filled my eyes reading your post this morning. What a precious story!! Our God is sooo good and only He knows what we need... and that is why your heart changed for a 4 year old. I pray for you all an awesome trip to China!! You'll be amazed at what an amazing country it is. The people are so kind and precious, honestly, not what I expected. And then of course, God will give you your precious Emmi Su! Blessings, Suzanne |
