WE HAVE A VISA!
Today , again , started with the breakfast buffet. I think I
could go without breakfast food for a while when we get home.
It’s not that it wasn’t wonderful but after 16-17 days of it,
one would love to eat something else! After, we met in the lobby
at about 10am or so to do our group pictures. Then Em and I
waited in the room for Daddy to go grab an extra bottle at the
store which is a mile walk or so. We only have one and the
Chinese version is slightly different than the ones at home and
it the “only one” we have breaks we could be in trouble! I don’t
plan on keeping her on it long, but I just don’t see the need to
change the one and only thing she still has right now! Besides I
know she is 4, but honestly it’s more like having a 2 year old!
There is plenty of time for catching up! When Daddy arrived back
he told me there were no bottles at that store, so all that
walking for nothing! Usually when Dan leaves, it’s to go and get
food and it’s a good thing he stopped and got some as Em was
digging through what he had to find the french fries. When 2:30
finally rolled around we headed to the lobby to meet the rest of
our group and head off to pick up our visas and the notorious
brown envelope, to be handed over to immigration when we hit US
soil. All went well and we are now finished with everything here
in China. Our guides got us the sweetest gifts and gave them to
us on the bus on our way back to the hotel from the consulate
visit. A Chinese paper cutting that is framed with the Chinese
character “Fu” in it. Fu means “lucky” or “good fortune”. It is
neat because all the kids from Fuling, where Em was from, has the
family name “Fu”! They also got us a t-shirt with Em’s Chinese
name on it, it is really adorable.
We said good bye to two of the families this evening. Both are
headed through Hong Kong on route to Ohio. It is so cool we have
2 families in this group (besides us) that are from Ohio!! It
wasn’t too hard to say good bye to them because our chances of
seeing them again are really good!!
Tomorrow begins our LONG journey home!! LONG! We have to have
our luggage out by 5:30am and check out by 6:30am. We leave our
hotel by 7am. We have a 3 hour flight from here to Beijing. Our
flight for Beijing leaves at around 9:30am and we will arrive
there at around 1:10pm or so and leave China at around 6:30pm or
so. We have a long layover in Beijing and then a long flight
(13.5 hours) to DC, we connect in DC and on to Ohio! We arrive
in Ohio around Midnight or so, I cannot remember the exact time
so if I am wrong it’s whatever I told you all!
IF you plan to meet us at the airport we would LOVE to see you
all, however please remember that Em’s brother and sisters have
yet to meet her and if they are at the airport PLEASE let them
meet her first! Thank you!
As we start this next part of the journey, the one we start at
home, we need to thank a few people! To Nana and Pappy, thank
you so much for holding things down at home! For watching all
the other kids and our dogs and house! We could NOT have done
this without you!! Also to every other family member who has
supported us along the way, thank you. This has been a long
journey and we are so grateful to all of you. To all those who
have prayed and been there for us, we do appreciate it! There
are too many of you to name, friends and family both, but know
we love you all and the support you all have given has meant the
world!
Much love, see you all very soon!
To all the E’s at home,
We will see you very soon. We cannot wait for you to meet your
new sister! Love you all so very much.

Emmi Su in her new outfit, which happens to be a 24 month size!

McDonalds bag Please don't ask me to eat there ANYTIME soon!

Emmi Su enjoying her french fries

Emmi Su bites her finger nails all the time. We are hoping she
doesn't take up toe nail biting too. (So sad and gross, but
true) Actually she bites EVERYTHING. She puts most everything in
her mouth. It is like haveing a 2 year old again. We need to
look for some of those oral stimulation type things I am
guessing! |
