The
Call
We received our long awaited referral call on Thursday, January
22, 2009 at 10:40am. Anna from America World Adoption Agency
called and informed us that they have a baby girl for us. I was
so shocked and completely caught off guard. I was thrilled with
excitement, shaking like a leaf, and my mind was racing a
million miles an hour as Anna began to share her information
with us. Scott was talking on his cell phone when Anna called
me. When I realized this was ”the call”, I told him to please
hang up. This was it! We had a baby girl!
Name
Ling Cha Wei
The surname is Ling, means smart or swift. Cha means green tea (Graycee
is from the Jiangxi province of China. They are known for their
beautiful porcelain and green tea. This part of her name is to
represent her heritage in China), and Wei is a name just like
John or Sue.
Born
November 28, 2007 She was abandoned on December 4, 2007 at the
front of a nursing home in Shangrao City. She was taken to the
orphanage the same day. When she was found she had a milk bottle
and a pack of milk powder with her. She was sent to the hospital
for an evaluation and everything was normal.

Other information
We received a medical report that was completed on November,
2008, showing a very healthy little girl. At that time, Gracycee
weighed 15 lbs and was 26 inches long.
She is a deep sleeper and sleeps very well. YEAH!!! She wakes up
at 6 am (we will work on that), takes a 2 hour nap after lunch
and goes to bed at 8pm each night. She eats 4- 5 times a day Her
diet consists of milk with rice powder , egg soup, and small
pieces of meat. Her favorite activity is playing games and her
favorite toy is any type of toy with music. She can crawl on her
hands and knees and can sit alone steadily. They tell us she is
very fond of listening to music and laughs aloud. I can’t wait
to hear her laugh!
We are already head over heels in love with our baby girl. We
anticipate traveling to China in late March to bring her home.
