We are Scott and Cindy- otherwise
known as Mom and Daddy. We have been married for 14 wonderful
years. We live in South Carolina. We have been blessed with two
great daughters, Katee and Lindsay. We all love to spend time
together, and everyone in our family has special things they
enjoy to do as well. Scott loves to run and is a huge Clemson
University sports fan. Cindy is a former teacher. She has been
staying home since the girls were born. She loves to cook and
create new food dishes for her family. Katee is 10 years old and
she is our volleyball and basketball girl. Lindsay is 9 years
old. She loves dance and creating arts and crafts projects.
Why Adoption?
If you are wondering why we are taking this path for our life
and family, let me share this with you. After having 2 beautiful
girls and enduring 3 miscarriages along the way, we thought our
family was complete. God had a different plan. After Scott and I
had many “light bulb” moments with God nudging us toward
adoption, we attended an adoption seminar lead by America World
Adoption Agency. It was a great day of learning and providing us
with eye opening information that we needed to hear. When we
left the seminar that day in 2005, we knew God had a plan for
us. Scott and I were not sure how it would unfold. After
speaking to Katee and Lindsay, we saw their joy and excitement.
They were thrilled with the idea of bringing home a little
sister from China. This whole journey for the last three years
has been about following God’s path. We have to admit we were
fearful that our family and friends would wonder why we were
doing such an unusual thing. We took time to look at the
positives and negatives of adoption, but as we prayed and sought
God’s wisdom, we had it confirmed over and over again that God
was leading us in the direction of adoption and specifically
China.
We feel God is going to use our family in the life of a special
little child half way around the world. He placed this on our
hearts years ago, and we are on a mission to fulfill this plan
that God has entrusted us to do. God chose a special child and
our family to come together at the right time and place. Our
family simply wants to love, support, and make a lifetime of
differences in this little baby that God has chosen for us.
