About Hailee

Chinese Name
Xia Quan He

Birth Date
August 1, 2007

Birth Place
Nanning City, Guangxi Province

On Thursday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00 am I received a wonderful phone call from our adoption agency saying they had a referral match for us. There was a little girl in China, Xia Quan He, waiting for us to bring her home. I was so excited that I could barely speak. This is what was known about you. You were placed at the side of the road at the back gate of Xinxiu park in Nanning City and your date of birth, August 1, 2007, was written on a piece of note paper and placed with you.

You were premature when you were born and were a little less than 4 lbs. Our adoption agency sent us 3 photos of you and I knew right away you were our daughter and that we belonged together as a family. Your Dad, Mike, was at the dentist office the day I received the call. I called him right away. The dentist office said he would be done in one hour. I called back exactly one hour later and told him the wonderful news – we had our little girl. We were so excited! Our best part of our journey has just begun. Hailee we told everyone about you…we can’t wait to meet you, hold you and bring you home. You’re our Hailee Bear :) Adorable, Sweet and Strong.

Information from your caretakers stated at 4 months old you liked the rattle-bell hanging before the mirror, and when the bell produced pleasant sounds, your eyes would brighten, and you would move your limbs and smile with great happiness. At 5 months old you enjoyed looking at your own image in the mirror and laughing, turning to face the other kids and saying “YiYi, YaYa” to them when lying in bed. At 6 months old, you spoke to yourself and enjoyed saying “Da, Da, Da” and raising your feet high, and then kicking the bed board to make the sound “Dong, Dong, Dong”. When you started to learn how to stand from other kids, the other kids clapped their hands excitedly. You would also clap your hands and giggle at the same time. You are described as a very lovely child, have a constant smile, enjoy outdoor activities, and enjoy all types of sound-producing toys and toys with bright colors- A Perfect Match for US. Your Dad and I love the outdoors and your Dad’s favorite hobby is listening to music – you two are going to have fun together.
