Jianmei turned five years old on October 6th, 2009. She spent most of her childhood in foster care, but is currently waiting for us in the Shanghai City Children’s Welfare Institute. From what we have been told, Jianmei likes reading and listening to music and singing. For fun, she likes to play with blocks, stuffed animals and loves to ride her bike. She is developing well. We love to look at these pictures and try to imagine what she’ll be like. She looks full of life, love and wonder.

We began our journey to Jianmei with a “Log in Date” of May 29, 2006. While we waited, Jianmei waited too. On August 28th, 2009, we learned our wait was over. Now we’re waiting to bring her home, and will depart for Shanghai on December 3. If all goes as planned, Jianmei will be home for Christmas! Maybe Santa will have room in his sleigh to bring us home!
