WE ARE HOME!!!

Our Journey to Leah is finally complete – I feel like I can finally exhale – we have our family together now. We are so excited to be home with her – she is doing great – and loves the boys and Armstrong!

The boys are being so sweet and are really helping out a lot. Grant actually helped me give her a bath late Wed night and then got up with me when she got up in the middle of the night. The picture of Grant and Leah sleeping is after we finally got her to sleep – he didn’t want to leave her! So cute!!

Guy loves to help her walk and make her laugh. She seems to be adapting well – I’m amazed at how well she is doing when I think of what she has been through over the last week.

The plane flight home was fine. She did remarkably well considering it was a 14 ½ hour flight! She got fussy a couple of times – and hung out in the bassinet some – and slept a little. We took turns entertaining her and walking her around the plane – needless to say, Vince and I got no sleep!

She has her days and nights mixed up a bit – which is to be expected. We take her to the doctor today for her check up – can’t wait to see how much she weighs and how tall she is.

We had quite a welcoming party when we got home – several of our neighbors were out with signs and welcomed us home – what a sight! We were so glad to see and hug the boys – we still can’t believe we were gone that long from them. And we still can’t believe we flew in and out of one of the worst ice and snowstorms in China’s history! What an amazing story – I know I said this before – but we so appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers – we could feel everyone with us. We joked with our travel group that we had the “Survivor China – the adoption version” trip.

I have to also thank everyone who kept everything going here on the home front. Maw Maw, Aunt Diane – and of course Annie and Kerry. The boys were so well cared for and had a great time while we were gone – everyone made sure they were very busy so they wouldn’t think too much about us being gone! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! Annie and Kerry – you are such great friends and I can’t ever begin to thank you enough!

We’ll post an update in a month or so – but for now – enjoy the pictures!!!

Love, Vince, Melanie, Guy, Grant and Leah!!!
