ONE YEAR WITH OUR PRECIOUS LEAH
We cannot believe it – but it has been 1 year since our Gotcha
Day! What a wonderful year it has been. Leah has blossomed and
grown so much. We all can hardly remember life without her – she
has completed our family and she is so perfect!
This past year has been SO busy. We of course took some time to
adjust to having another child, having a baby, and all the
scheduling that comes with having 3 children. I feel like I can
say I’m finally getting a handle on things. And Leah is so great
because she just gets in the car and goes – whether it is
soccer, football, lacrosse, etc, etc – she has such a sweet and
laid back disposition and has fun wherever she goes.
Some Leah highlights:
• She is absolutely in charge around here – her brothers adore
her and do anything she wants.
• She goes to preschool 2 mornings a week – and at first did not
like it – but now loves it.
• Leah is over 75% of height on the American growth charts – so
funny – she’s the same height as the boys were at her age – many
people come up to me and can’t believe she is 22 months old.
• Leah can recognize all of her upper and lower case letters and
her numbers 1-9. We are absolutely blown away by this – she’s
been calling them out wherever we go and in her books for a
couple of months now. Vince and I are a little scared, we think
she may be smarter then us by the time she is 3.
• Leah takes a Kindermusik class once per week and loves it.
• Leah loves the beach – we had to keep her from crawling
straight out in the ocean to go swimming – no fear!
• Leah loves the pool – she’s always the last person ready to
leave when it is time to go.
• Leah is very independent and likes to try to do things herself
and this can cause a few tears as she tries to get her tights on
by herself in the morning!
• Leah had to wear one of those Cranial Bands for about 3 months
in May, June, July – I mention this in case others who are
reading go through this. The back of her head was pretty flat
and it was making her head and face crooked or “not
symmetrical.” She ended up being fine with it (it was more of a
pain for me and Vince to clean it and make sure it didn’t get
wet, etc) you would think it would have bothered her, but it
didn’t -which was amazing. The final result is that we did have
a lot of “movement” and it helped some – so we are glad we did
it.
• Leah loves the Nick Jr. show Ni Hao Kai Lan. She just laughs
and dances when it comes on – it is so cute.
We had a wonderful first Christmas with Leah. I have included a
picture of Leah with Santa – it was not a good time for Leah! I
sat her down on Santa’s lap – snapped this picture – then picked
her right back up. I know, bad Mamma – but I just had to try.
The other picture of her with cookie monster was right after
that – so a cookie took care of everything!
Leah is the most precious gift we could ever receive. She is
perfect and her personality is so wonderful– it’s the most
amazing thing to think about how God had his hand in the
matching process. She is our daughter, our sister, out little
love. We’re trying not to spoil her –but it’s pretty hard!
Enjoy the pictures from the last year!
(ps. I have a blog that I try to update – mostly with just
pictures – feel free to visit it
here!) |
