About Reagan   back

Her name . . .  Reagan

“But what her ears heard was the prettiest song that she’d ever heard anyone sing! Then even Dot’s ladybug eyes started leaking when she realized the song was a NAME. She had wondered so long what her friend would be called, and this NAME was so perfect and clever. ‘From now on, we will be ‘REAGAN’ and Dot, and we will be together forever!’”
-Altered excerpt from Shaoey and Dot by Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman

Ronald Reagan is my favorite president. Faith was very important to Reagan, and I admire how he lived his life and ran his presidency according to God’s Word and his convictions. He was a man of prayer who was not afraid to go against public opinion to do what he thought God was telling him to do. He was, and still is, a great inspiration to me. Our little angel will have his name, Reagan, a Gaelic/Celtic name that means “royalty.” We also plan to incorporate her Chinese name into her middle name. This is one of the only things that she will have from China, and we do not want to take that away from her.

Kisses in the Wind
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.
Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.

“When Love Takes You In” by Steven Curtis Chapman
I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in
