Well today was our last day in China! We had group photos
taken. The group photo of the babies didn’t turn out as well
as I had hoped. It is really hard to get 9 babies to pose-
go figure! We then went to the US Consulate for our swearing
in ceremony. The room was packed and wonderful to see so
many happy (even though some were crying) babies. Even
though the ceremony was short and sweet, Dan and I got a
little choked up. We received our infamous “brown packet”
that can’t be opened by anyone until we get to the US .
Kayla is pictured with our guides from Beijing and Guangzhou
, Rosa and Maggie. They have been wonderful! I would
certainly recommend America World Adoption Agency without
hesitation. Having a Christian organization lead us through
this has been comforting. They gave us a beautiful framed
paper art picture and a t-shirt hand painted with a little
Chinese girl and Kayla’s Chinese name in Chinese characters.
It is so cute I think we’ll frame it instead of letting her
get juice on it.
We have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in our
travel group 132B. Their little girls and one little boy are
so cute! Please pray for all of us as we travel back home
tomorrow. I mean it- please pray for the three flights
including the 13 hour one to Chicago! Maybe we’ll all sleep
until we arrive in Cincinnati. :) We leave the hotel
tomorrow at 6:00 AM. What fun!
This trip has been life-changing in more ways than one.
Thanks for following along! It is a time our family will
forever cherish!
