We made it! We
started off at 4:30 AM in Guangzhou. We had a three
hour flight to Beijing. We then had a four hour layover.
That wasn't
so bad because our lunch order took about two hours to get.
I think
it was the restaurant's first day open. The Beijing Airport
is
awesome! It is new and the largest in the world. It was one
of
United's first days to be open in the new terminal also.
Everything
went smoothly and our luggage made the weight limits. Yeah!
We then
began our 12 hour flight from Beijing to Chicago. Our last
leg was
from Chicago to Cincinnati. All of the kids were perfect!
Kayla
never cried once the entire time! She even slept on the
plane in the
seat between Dan and me. The trip home seemed shorter than
going
there. I guess we were so pre-occupied with her that it made
the time
go faster.
When we arrived in Cincinnati, we were greeted by the most
wonderful
friends and family! They had signs and a big banner. It was
overwhelming to see them at the end of the walkway. Thanks
to all of
them! They also had decorated our home- and I mean decorated
our
home. The outside and inside were covered with signs, cards,
streamers, etc. We really appreciate everything that they
did. We
also found plenty of food waiting for us and gifts. Thanks
to the
neighbors who left us cards, signs, and gifts also. So many
people
helped us while we were gone from neighbors feeding the
turtle to my
brother driving us to the airport to my parents taking
Tigger to the
kennel. It was also so nice to see Dan's Dad and sister who
had
driven from Cleveland and Indy to greet us off the plane.
Unfortunately Dan's mom didn't feel well and couldn't join
us. She'll
get to meet Kayla as soon as she feels better.
We are in such awe of God's perfect plan! Kayla just fits
into our
family so wonderfully! She is a delight and too cute! We
look forward
to having her meet you all in person!
Love
Dan, Amy, Abby, Drew, and Kayla |
