I can’t believe been home for two weeks already. The time is just flying by. Lara is doing fantastic. She is adjusting to her life remarkably well and is such a happy child. I’m sure you can tell by the pictures. She is quite a cuddle bug and Nicholas has taught her how to make a kissing sound. Chris has gone back to work and she and I are having a blast while Nicholas is in school. Lara has turned into a mama’s girl, though she get really excited when Chris comes home from work and rocks her to sleep every night. She has gotten used to our dog, Simba, which is quite a relief. Sometimes she will pet him on the head ever so nicely.

Lara absolutely loves being outside. Whether it is a ride in the stroller or playing at the park, she is happy as can be. We started out with little stroller rides to the nearby Starbucks but now we go all over the place. On most days we play at the park after we pick Nicholas up from school. It cracks my friends up when they see us. Even though the park is a messy business, she still has on her girly clothes. I’m having way too much fun. If she gets dirty, I get to put her in a new outfit. I think getting her outside also helped with the jet lag. She is shy with new people, but we expected that. She walks really well but most people don’t realize this as we don’t let her feet the ground; maybe next week… lol. Lara is also a great sleeper. After about three days both kids were sleeping through the night (12 hours) and she takes about 1 ½- 2-hour nap. We are having no problems figuring out what she needs. She will belt out a “ma ma” if I get too far away and she does a lot of finger pointing. We think she may be a lefty. She also says up (in Chinese) ba ba, book, baby, and uh oh. She says uh oh a lot. She is also a pro at feeding herself, both with finger foods and a spoon. Her favorite foods are noodles, scrambled eggs, bananas and watermelon. Lara isn’t interested in television, though she will watch some Teletubbies off and on. Trust me, it’s worth it to some dishes done or food on the table. The microwave is my new best friend.

Nicholas is doing well too. He has become such a good big brother and often gives Lara random hugs. There is some sibling rivalry but not as much as we thought there would be. We are setting aside special alone time with him. Chris took Nicholas to Chuck E. Cheese last weekend, and I’m going to take him to see Monsters vs. Alien. I think I got the better end of that stick.

We feel so blessed to have two beautiful, fun loving kids and are enjoying every minute.
