We’re going to China!!!
This past week has been a whirlwind since learning on Tuesday
that we will leave for China on Wednesday, December 10!
Here is our itinerary …
December 10: Arrive at the airport at the early hour of
4am. Fly to Washington DC and then on to China.
December 11: Arrive in Beijing at 3:30pm (do our very
best to stay awake until the sun goes down).
December 12: Free day. We will do a little exploring and
will try to find a playground for Zoe to get some exercise. Our
plan is to keep it low key and try and get our sleep schedule on
China time.
December 13: Visit TianAnMen Square, the Forbidden City
and the Great Wall. We’ll also attend our agency’s orientation
meeting.
December 14: Fly
to Nanchang at 7:35am. Meet Lexi in the
afternoon!
December 15: Take care of the notary and registration
part of the adoption.
December 16: Free day (I see lots of bonding a playtime
on this particular day and hopefully a visit to JingDeZhen).
December 17: Visit the TengWang Pavillion.
December 18: Visit the People’s Park.
December 19: Get Lexi’s passport and all adoption
paperwork back. Complete the paperwork for the American
Consulate.
December 20: Fly to Guangzhou at 10:10am.
December 21: Free day. The term shop ‘till you drop comes
to mind since we’re staying on the Shamian Island.
December 22: Lexi’s medical examination.
December 23: Have our appointment at the American
Consulate and then attend our agency’s farewell dinner.
December 24: Go to the American Consulate to take our
oath and receive Lexi’s Visa that evening.
December 25 (the BEST Christmas EVER): Fly to Beijing at
9:25am and then head to Chicago at 5:20pm. Arrive in Chicago and
watch as Lexi touches US soil and becomes an America citizen.
What a wonderful Christmas gift!!! After a four hour layover,
fly home arriving at just past midnight. |
This happens several times a day.
Zoe goes to the window and blows kisses to her sister in China.
"We're coming to China to get you, Lexi!!! We love you!!!"
Kisses in the Wind
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it
seems.
I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so
long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you
strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your
skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in
the wind.
May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.
Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just
pretend.
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in
the wind.
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I send to you
each night.
