Wow! I am over due for an update… where does time go?

Linzhi is doing wonderful!!!! We just love her to pieces and everyday we’re in awe of all the new things she’s coming up with!

About three weeks ago Linzhi started pre-school one day per week at the invitation of Rachel’s teacher, Ms. Michelle. She absolutely LOVES it and looks so proud of herself when I pick her and Rachel up. :) We love everyone at Children’s Corner and thank you all for loving our kiddos!

We got some wonderful news recently that Linzhi has been accepted at Shriners Hospital in Chicago!! This is a huge, unbelievable blessing and we are so excited to meet with the physicians that specialize in her condition. Our first appointment isn’t until June. We were a little disappointed but it just gives her more time to just chill out and settle more into her new life. Speaking of her hands, Linzhi has so much more range of motion since we’ve been home. We believe because she is now able to play for several hours a day her arms are getting stronger and she’s learning to manipulate her hands more…especially when she wants to play with a certain toy. :) Linzhi can also put her shoes on if they slip on or Velcro, she also LOVES princess high heals and walks in them like a pro… Just like Rachel!! We have also discovered Linzhi has a love for babies, real and pretend. She is very attentive and tender, she’ll say to her baby dolls “poor baby” as she rocks them while singing a lullaby. She is such a doll baby herself, we love her so.

Linzhi is getting a little picky when it comes to food now AND she will push back a little at bed time or when we ask her to do something she’s not in the mood to do. We are so happy about this because this means she is getting more confident in our love for her and feels safe enough to express her true feelings. Although, she does push back, she is very easy to correct but VERY sensitive and will cry if you look at her cross eyed. We treat her gingerly when in comes to correcting but it’s still important for her to know right from wrong. It really amazes me how much we have to switch gears when it comes to all of our kids. Trevor, is easy going all the time but needs to be pushed a bit more to get him motivated, especially in the morning (like mom). Rachel is high spirited and high energy from sun up to sun down, she is easy to motivate and is excited to do or try anything plus, she is absolute sunshine in the morning. Linzhi is easy going like Trevor but is the most sensitive of all the kids and we most certainly understand why. Linzhi is slow to rise in the morning but is always grinning within minutes! She also LOVES to follow and mimic anything and everything Rachel does. We really love to sit back and watch them. God picked the perfect child to add to this family, I can’t imagine life without her.

We are now preparing for Easter by decorating and getting Easter dresses. We love to celebrate Jesus and the sacrifice he made for all of us. What a joy it is to share the Lord with all of our kids. It blesses my heart to see my children incorporate him in their daily lives by either singing praying, reading the bible, etc… I can’t really put in into words how precious that is to us. Happy Easter to you all!

That’s about it, we’re all loving life and each other and looking forward to spring…This Midwest winter has been tough!

May God bless you all!

Amy

Ps…I started a blog (I’m in shock too). Honestly, I love it because to me it’s an online journal for me to look back on so I’m really enjoying it. Check it out …. http://myfourblessings.blogspot.com
