We have progress!!

This morning she stood up in her bed to try and get out. She's never shown that much energy. She normally just lays everywhere like an infant. We were so happy to wake up to that!

Breakfast went well. We left this morning to go to White Cloud Park. It was like a mini botanical gardens. The theme right now was Holland/Dutch so it was filled with tulips, wooden shoes, and windmills. So funny to be in China and feel like your in Holland.

It was very beautiful and relaxing. Lily loved her stroller and was so good the whole time we were there. Cried in every photo but oh well, we are getting used to that.

The weather was cooler today but still nice. We got many stares from people. I asked our guide, Wensi, what they were pointing and talking about. She said they are very curious why we are wearing short sleeves. It's every bit of 65 degrees out and everyone was wearing heavy jackets. I also asked her why you never see any critters, birds, etc. and she said you can only see them in the zoo. No snakes, deer, or any wildlife. She also said the animals know better...the Cantonese would eat them in a hurry!

I asked her what the locals thought of us adopting. She said they think the babies are very lucky. The people know the condition of the orphanage so they like it. The older crowd not so much.

After we got back we got some lunch at McDonald's...very tasty! Went back to the room and boy were we surprised! She actually played!!! We had stacker cups on the floor and she interacted with them...so cute! She kept trying to get all her little people to fit into one bowl and was showing some great development skills. We are thrilled! Unfortunately, I only got video and no photos.

She fell asleep next to dad for about 20 minutes. At snack time she actually picked up the food herself and even reached out to get it! This is huge! She is showing some great progress today...yay!!

Went for a walk around the pool and talked with one of the other Bethany families here. It's nice to have someone you can bond with. Both families we are with now are wonderful and we are so thankful.

As I was changing her diaper for bed she was crying and said "mama". This time I think it was for me :))) She fell asleep snuggled in Dad's arms. She holds tight now and will even lay her head down. The trust is slowly coming. Maybe a smile tomorrow!

Thanks again for all the wonderful posts. Your support is such a wonderful thing when you are over here.

Hayden, Delcan, Grady: We miss miss miss you! Can't wait to see you and for you to meet your new sister!! I'm putting a photo on here for you this time. LOVE YOU!!
