About Sienna
What an amazing present for
Steve’s birthday! We got the wonderful news at 2:30pm on April
30th 2007, that we had indeed been matched with a little girl.
Stefani Ellison sent the good news via e-mail. “Your referral is
on its way from China today” those were the most beautiful
words, we had been waiting for 18+ very long months to finally
see a picture of this little angel.
Here is what we know so far:
Chinese Name: Xiao Liang
Feng
Born: July 15th, 2006
Location: Jiangxi Province,
China
Our little Sienna is in the Fencheng Social Welfare Institute of
the Peoples Republic of China. Her orphanage is about 50kms
south of Nanchang. Her file says she was one day old when she
was placed in the orphanage. Xiao means small bird. Liang means
good, excellent. I hope this means she will sing like a small
bird, with an excellent voice. Like father like daughter! Feng,
her last name represents the orphanage in which she resides
right now. She was born in the year of the dog. We are still
hoping this won’t mean she will chase the cat! People born in
the year of the dog are said to be very loyal, care givers.
Honest and deeply compassionate. I guess that someone upstairs
must have had a hand in this, for I have always believed she was
sent to us, to help us, not the other way around. She is a very
happy little girl. She eats well. We understand that she drinks
formula; she eats rice cereal, drinks milk 5 times a day, each
time. Her supplemental foods are rice soup, steamed egg,
biscuits and soup. She eats 5 times a day. Has a good appetite,
I would say! She gets up at 6am. (ouch!), takes a 1 hr. nap and
goes to bed at 9:00 sounds like she has mama’s energy! She is
described as a moderate sleeper? She sleeps with her fingers in
her mouth. She is described as being active, and quick in
reaction. She can transfer a toy from one hand to another.
Her favorite activity is playing with her friends. Her favorite
toys are bold red plastic toys.
She was 6 months old in these pictures, at that time she weighed
7(kg)=15.4 lbs. Her height was 65(cm)=25.5in. She rolls over,
holds her head up, knows her name, laughs aloud, holds a ready
smile, uses her pinchers to pick up beans, and turns her head in
the direction of sound. She loves listening to music and reading
picture books. She is closest to her caregiver. She is the
daughter we have prayed for. We are faithful in the Lord’s
ability to protect her until she can be in our arms forever.

beautiful things in the world can not be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart” ~ Helen Keller
