GOTCHA DAY!

This morning we woke up early and rushed to get ready. After a quick breakfast and a van ride we got to the airport. We had a great flight on a very nice plane and arrived in Guangzhou around 1:00. Our guide Elvin picked us up and we had just enough time to get to the hotel, grab some things and head to the Civil Affairs Office. I was not nervous at all until I walked into the room with a few dozen families and heard a lot of screaming. After a quick temperature we entered the room and sat down on red couches. The room was blazing hot. I was staring at all the families, it was a little emotional and I fought back tears. All of a sudden Elvin comes to us and says to come on and motions for us to stand and before I know it she is walking in the room. I couldn’t help crying and I think it kind of scared her because I heard someone tell her Mama and Baba cry happy tears. She was very shy but willingly went to the coach to sit with us. She has been very happy, very obedient and quite a joy. She has already given us many laughs and has her daddy wrapped around her finger. We have been back at the hotel now for a few hours. We have been to 7Eleven, had pizza (which she loved!) and hung out in our friends room. The two other families with us got their little boys today! While I prepared this John got her ready for bed. She has on pajamas with pearls! Now that’s my girl! We are going to get ready to go to bed. Tomorrow we have paperwork and I will tell you some of the things we have learned about our girl!

"We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands." ~Kristi Larson

Boys- Lily is so funny. She has been laughing a lot but doesn’t want to try English yet. She can write her numbers and Mama and Baba and Daddy in English. We were pretty shocked. We will Skype you tonight!
