Today we checked out of Nanning and although it was a great
place because we got Macy there, we were ready to go. The hotel
room was very crowded and hot and we just felt ready to move on.
We (with three other families and lots of luggage) boarded a bus
to Guilin. The bus was actually great… comfortable seats and
they provided a meal of bread and oranges. It was actually
delicious. The countryside was beautiful and Macy slept most of
the 5 hour trip. She actually has a fever and an ear infection
so Kathleen started her on an antibiotic.
We arrived to the hotel and the weather (and the hotel room) is
much cooler. Jeff is the only one walking around in shorts but
he is loving it. We checked into our hotel and then set out to
dinner with our group. It all went pretty well.
As for Guilin it is as beautiful as reported. The only industry
here is tourism so there is no industrial pollution. Our hotel
is on a lake which our room overlooks. It is lit up beautifully
and we were going to walk around but we are tired and trying to
let Macy get better.
Macy, despite her illness, seems to be doing much better. She
will play on the floor or bed without being held for brief
stretches. She has decided she loves a pacifier which helps us
comfort her when she does get upset. She responds to “Yen Yen”
which the nannies called her and she seems to be really starting
to trust us. She is even eating better.
Well we are exhausted so we are going to sign off. We’ll try for
more pictures tomorrow. All our love and best wishes.

A Special Note to
Kayleigh and Brayden
We took a big bus to Guilin today. It was kind of fun. We
will be here two days and then go onto another hotel. We
are most excited because each day we get closer to seeing
our two munchichis (we do not know how to spell that but
you know what we mean).
We love you.

Macy- she wore some Christmas clothes today
but it still does not feel like December.
