We're Home

March-June 2008

Well, once again we are officially very late with our updates. We always have the best intentions but life seems to get in the way. We will give you a brief update and then try to be better for the rest of the year.

March was primarily spent with getting settled back home and at work. During spring break we decided to go to Dallas instead of doing anything grand. We felt that Macy (and perhaps Mom and Dad) were not up for an airplane ride and that a quiet trip would be good. We stayed at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and had a good time. Macy took her first swim with us and was not at all convinced that it was fun (see the pictures of her crawling out of the pool). We took the older kids (and of course Macy tagged along- which she has gotten very good at doing) to see the grassy knoll where JFK was assassinated and Kayleigh really liked it. Macy also became very proficient at walking during this time period (sleeping in a hotel room with all of us was another story).

In April, Macy was baptized on a weekend that Kathleen’s family had come from Atlanta. It was nice having them there for her baptism and she did great. Our friend and pastor Fred Thrower baptized her and she wore the gown Kayleigh wore. She looked like an Angel (we may be biased but you need to see her pictures).

May was spent surviving the end of school, the start of swim team, the opening of Kayleigh’s play, and so on and so on. Macy definitely learned what it was like to be the little sister and have to spend countless hours at the “older ones’” activities.

June saw more free time with Daddy and the big kids. Macy has gotten so much bigger; it is amazing. She is a huge eater and squawks at us most of the day. She loves to say “Mama” and “Dada” and is running and climbing everywhere. She really keeps us on our toes and by the end of the day we are sometimes ready for bed when she is. Kathleen enjoys rocking with her before she falls asleep. She looks up with those sweet eyes and we know how special she is.

We continue to count God’s blessings everyday.
