We had a great day today! Marossie slept very well throughout
the night. She was only up once briefly at 3:15am for a SMALL
bottle. After last nights ordeal with the exploding baby, I was
very nervous to ever feed her again! She has done great with her
eating today, she actually ate some mashed potatoes in addition
to her usual congee for dinner. She even tried some of my
spaghetti! She is funny , if we give her a piece of our toast
during breakfast, she will meticulously pinch off tiny pieces of
it and toss them on the floor. You would think that she was
feeding the birds or something. She is becoming more
adventuresome with her eating.
This morning after breakfast, we headed down the street to have
the babies visa pictures made then on to the Medical Exam.
Fortunately for us, Marossie passed with flying colors! She
weighs a whopping 18#.
The tourist attraction for the day was The Yuntai Garden. This
place was wonderful. It is a huge park filled with beautiful
flowers and sculptures. It was impressive, there were people
everywhere mowing, watering, planting, pruning etc. You can see
the pride the staff takes in their work clear down to the most
minute detail. We did not see a single piece of trash anywhere.
We walked around for an hour and a half and got to see
everything but I could have stayed all day.
After the garden, we walked across the street and had yet
another delicious Cantonese lunch. All the different dishes are
served on a lazy Susan. This is a neat way to be able to try
everything. Our guide ordered for us and yet again, he did not
disappoint. Marossie even wanted to try some of the rice, served
via chopsticks of course.
When we got back to the hotel, we made a quick pit stop for
Marossie then it was back down stairs for paperwork with Bob. We
are taking care of the paperwork portion for the U.S. Consulate
now, we are in the final stage of the process.
Marossie had an excellent nap today! She woke up happy and
without any tears for the first time. It is such an awesome gift
to have a happy baby. She and James had a better day too. Your
prayers are being felt!
Our girl is opening up little by little each day, we just wait
for her sweet, timid giggle. It takes a lot to make her laugh
out loud and we don't mind making fools out of ourselves just so
we can hear it. At first, if she made any noise at all, her
voice was soft and barely audible, today she is putting a little
volume to it but she still is not for sure if it is okay to cut
loose. I can't wait for you all to meet her, she is simply
lovely. We will be home in SIX days! We love China but there is
no place like home!
Thank you all for your continued support, it means everything.
Love to all of you!
