Hello All,
Today was yet another great day here in Guangzhou. We took a
couple strolls around the island and finished up our shopping.
We went to the White Swan Hotel with the Duncan family to have
our official red couch photos taken. The girls looked so
beautiful in their dresses. Although we are not staying at the
White Swan, we didn't feel like we could leave China without the
photo shoot on the famous red couch. By the way, for those of
you getting ready to come to China, the red couches (there are
at least six of them, not just one), are located on the second
floor lobby. We had to ask where they were otherwise we would
have never found them!
This morning Bob went to turn in the last of our official
paperwork, he called to let us know that everything went great
and we have our consulate appointment tomorrow (Thurs.). We will
meet him in the lobby in the afternoon and go to the oath-taking
ceremony; a while after the ceremony we will receive Marossie's
passport and visa. We can't leave China without these documents
so this part of the process is a big deal!
Marossie is doing great, she is starting to find her voice. This
evening she was talking/yelling so loud that I thought we might
get a call from the front desk with a complaint! She definitely
has some spunk to her. We love it. Tonight at dinner, she was
literally eating everything she could get her hands on. She is
trying really hard to perfect the magic trick where you pull the
tablecloth out from under the dishes on the table! We really
have to watch her!
Better go for now, only TWO more days and we can't wait. We
really, really love China but there is no place like home.
