Today we completed our official adoption paperwork for the
Chinese government. We returned to the Civil Affairs Bureau of
Jiangxi Province, where we received Mary Grace yesterday, to
complete the registration and then we went to the Notary Office.
Mary Grace is legally ours in the eyes of the Chinese
government!
After that, Catherine and Mary, our province coordinators, took
us to a Chinese Walmart where we bought diapers, formula,
bottled water and other necessities. The store was huge, and it
was an interesting experience being in a Walmart in the middle
of Jiangxi Province, China.
Mary Grace finally had a great night’s sleep. After falling
asleep at 8:00last night during her stroller ride through the
hotel with Daddy and Mark, she woke at 6:15 this morning and
took her first bottle since we received her. She did great this
morning during all our appointments, on the bus and at Walmart .
. . thanks to her wonderful Daddy! Mary Grace is comfortable
with both of us, but she is definitely turning into a “daddy’s
girl.”
Though she still has her moments, we can tell that her heart is
beginning to heal from the grief she has been feeling. She is
beginning to trust us more and we can see bits and pieces of her
personality coming through. We know it’ll only get better with
time.
We want to thank everyone again for the love and support you’ve
shown us through your guestbook messages and for all the
heartfelt messages left after our Gotcha Day post. They mean
everything to us!
Blessings from China,
Brad, Delilah, Mark and Mary Grace |
