Today was a very good day for Mei and me. We started
off taking group photos on the famous "red couch" with
our travel mates.
Mei smiled the entire time. She is very social and
loves looking at other little ones.
After lunch we went to the US Embassy to receive Mei's
passport and visa and then we had our swearing in
ceremony....
Well, I raised my right hand with my left arm around
Mei and got two words in and my words turned to sighs
and my sighs turned to cries. I did not expect the
waterfall of emotion that rushed over me but this was
the end of our journey. No more wait, no more
wondering, no more paperwork.
I don't think I could put into words how much this
little wonder has changed my life. I am so excited
to have Bill and Gus and Cate welcome home their
daughter and baby sister tomorrow night!!!
I've been singing Mei this cheesy 70's song I can't
get out of my head...
"Woh, woh, yeah, yeah....I love you more than I can
say....I love you twice as much tomorrow...woh, woh I
love you more than I can say...."
This will be my last post in China as we are homeward
bound in the morning. Can't wait to be HOME.
Love, Kira and Mei |
