About Melynda

On Friday May 2, 2008, we got an unexpected and surprise call from our agency with our referral of our beautiful baby girl. Great Wall expected the referrals on Monday, but they were delivered a day early. We were referred a little baby girl from Jiangxi providence in China. Melynda Jane was born on July 9, 2007. Melynda resides in the Shangrao Children’s Welfare Institute. We think she is so precious. The following is the information that was provided to us about Melynda: ●is a deep sleeper, ●likes toys and music, ●has a ready smile, ●is obstinate (like her mommy), ●likes to play games, ●is quick in reaction, ●knows her name, ●laughs out loud. In March, Melynda weighed 13.2 lbs and was 25 inches. I received the call from Kim at Great Wall. I am glad she called me because I think I drove her crazy by calling each week for almost 3 year looking for information. After I got the call and the girls in the office screamed and celebrated with me, I called Greg at work and gave him the good news. Then my boss, Alec was kind enough to send me home. I could not make it home without calling my Mom and Dad. By the time I got home, my co-workers had all sent email congratulations. We received the email with Melynda’s photo at 5:55 PM on Friday, but I could not open the picture until Greg got home from work at 12:30 AM. It was longest wait. In the interim, my brother, Jeff, called and I sent him and my Mom the photo. He and his family opened the picture and my nephew, Matthew, gave me a description of her picture. He thought she was cute and looked healthy. The family thought she was adorable. We had to wait until Saturday to start sending the baby’s picture to family and friends and we continue to share her picture with everyone. Monday my co-workers bought me pink roses and a delicious almond torte cake. They all celebrated the referral of Melynda with me. Tuesday the Federal Express deliveryman brought Melynda’s referral paperwork to us. Greg made him pose for a picture with the paperwork and Melynda’s picture.
