Well, we made it!! Our flight from Syracuse to Chicago was a
breeze. We waited a while in Chicago but were so excited that
time flew. When we boarded our plane for Beijing, I was amazed
at how big it was. Boys, you would have loved it. It had two
floors just like we talked about. The best part was that there
was hardly anyone on the plane so we had entire rows to
ourselves. I still didn’t sleep more than an hour. Jason slept
an hour or two. The food on the plane was different. I’m not
sure what you boys would have eaten.
Our travel group is awesome. John and Jonni were with us from
Chicago to Beijing and then we met up with the Pounder family.
We are traveling with the Pounder family to Nanchang which is in
the Jiangxi Province. They have a little girl who is 11 and she
was adopted when she was 7 months from Nanchang also. She is
here with us and is very outgoing and talkative. Adam, you would
get along well with her.
Tomorrow is our big day. At 10:30 we load up and head to the
Civil Affairs Office. This is where Aleina will be brought and
we will meet her for the very first time!! Our guide, Mary,
called the orphanage director and he has the cameras that we
sent 2 months ago. He will be bringing these tomorrow as well.
We hope that they are filled with pictures of Aleina in her
foster home. This will be the only history that we will be able
to give her.
Well, we are exhausted as we have been up for over 30 hours. I
need some sleep because tomorrow will be one of the most
important day of my life!
Kyle, thanks for writing to me! I will have better pictures
tomorrow. I promise to get some close-ups of your little sister
so you can see what she looks like now. I love you boys very
much and I am already missing you terribly.
Shawn, I promise to give your little girl a big kiss for you and
show her pictures of her “baba”. I love you lots! Take care of
my boys. |
