ATLANTA SHOWER I went to Atlanta in May for a girls’ weekend and my first baby shower! Laura Bonds and Laura Haller were so thoughtful and so generous to plan and host an amazing baby shower for me n Atlanta. I really felt so honored and so loved. The shower was a luncheon at a very charming Southern restaurant called the Old Vinings Inn. The girls did an amazing job of making the day very special for me- and for Grace! Every little detail was so thought out and so meaningful. The invitations, decorations and favors were all pink and brown with polka dots- just like our website! Those of you who know me know that I’m a sucker for anything pink and brown! Has anyone seen the new Maclaren stroller in pink and brown? Next I’m hoping that Vera Bradley comes out with a pink and brown pattern so that I can have a diaper bag to match my stroller… It was the perfect day all around. The weather was beautiful- and perfect for wearing my new pink Lilly Pulitzer dress. We were a small group and had a table in a quiet room with a porch. It was a great opportunity for me to catch up with my Atlanta friends and tell them about what we have done to prepare for Grace. Laura and Laura selected a wonderful menu for us- I had the best shrimp and grits ever! It’s a very popular (and yummy) southern dish. Laura Bonds printed some very special adoption poems and sayings on pretty paper for everyone to read, we were all teary. I’m planning to frame them for the nursery. Grace received some really beautiful and thoughtful gifts. I had so much fun opening pink baby gifts. It’s finally starting to feel real and it’s so nice to know that there are so many people waiting for Grace. The rest of the weekend was just as much fun and memorable. I really enjoyed spending time with Laura and Laura as well as their kids, Claire & Anna and big boy Tyler. Of course, I also enjoyed seeing Jay and John too… Thank you to Laura and Laura for a wonderful and memorable day. Thanks also for your friendship and support during the long wait.
