REFERRAL
DAY
AND VIRGINIA SHOWER
Timing was perfect and I had a wonderful shower here in
Virginia the day after our referral came- which means we
had lots of family and friends around all weekend. My
sister Tricia and my best friend Peggy were able to be
with us about 2 hours after our call, and Christian’s mom
and brother later that evening. It was so nice to be able
to share in the excitement with family and friends. We had
a big celebration dinner Friday night at our favorite
Chinese restaurant in Vienna. My good friend and neighbor
Karen hosted a wonderful shower for me in her home. It was
an amazing weekend, the only part missing was having my
mom and Susan here to share in our excitement.
Unfortunately, a very close family member passed away last
week. Bill was a 37 year old father of four, and will be
greatly missed by all. It was important for Susan and my
parents to be at his wake and funeral. It was all
bittersweet, as we celebrated the arrival of our baby girl
and mourned the passing of a wonderful friend, husband and
dad. We pray that Bill rests in peace.
Thank you to all of our family and friends that have been
so supportive over the past 2.5 years and have shared so
joyously in our excitement over the past few days. We feel
very blessed and we know that Grace is going to be very
