Good Morning America! Greetings from Nanchang, China. It
was kind of a quiet day again. We had a short optional
trip today to a typical Chinese pavilion. We decided to
leave Christian and Grace back at the hotel to prevent any
chance of either one getting sick. It is so cold; I just
wonder how it’s not snowing. Most of the buildings here do
not have heat. One of the babies in our group has to go to
the hospital twice a day for an antibiotic shot, and the
hospital doesn’t even have heat. Somehow, buildings
without heat are colder than being outside. So, needless
to say, the pavilion was very cold. Our guides had
arranged for a short show for us at the pavilion, with
traditional Chinese costumes, song and dance. I really
enjoyed that and got some good video. I was also able to
order a few keepsake items for Grace, including a silk
wall hanging embroidered with Grace’s name, birth date and
birth place, as well as some traditional silk Chinese
dresses. I was SO happy to get back to the hotel to warm
up, but mostly to see my girl. She and Daddy had so much
fun together again. We spent most of the afternoon in the
open play area with Grace’s orphanage friends (and our
travel group). We all got our pictures back from the
disposable cameras that we sent in the care packages. The
nannies did a great job of capturing some very happy
moments in our daughters’ lives before we met them. Most
were shots with more than one baby – so it is neat to see
which babies of our group hung out together. We are lucky
that there are 2 nannies prominent in most of Grace’s
pictures. We are looking forward to keeping in touch with
the orphanage and sending updates on Grace as she grows
up.
Tonight is my turn to do the night shift, so I’m going to
keep this short so Grace and I can get to bed. Thanks for
visiting our site! Please send some sun our way!! |

Sucking my thumb and praying

I think she is my mommy

That makes me happy! |
