Today was our last day in China. We spent our time
shopping and packing. And the more shopping we did, the
harder the packing got! We had to buy a suitcase to bring
home the 36 pair of squeaky shoes that were purchased….
Christian has put a ban on shoe buying for the next 6
years. They are so darn cute and so reasonably priced, too
good to pass up! We also got several traditional Chinese
silk dresses for Grace to wear each year for Chinese New
Year. We hope she is proud to wear them!
Grace slept through the night for the past 2 nights and
that has made for a much happier family. Today was by far
Grace’s happiest day. She took a nap for almost 3 hours
and then played alone with Daddy for a long time while
Mommy finished up on the shoes. We aren’t sure that she
knows her name yet, but she definitely recognizes ‘clap’
and she clapped several times on her own. We were so
excited, since she has made such wonderful progress over
the past 10 days. She sits by herself and really enjoys
playing with her toys. Just a few minutes ago, she was
almost asleep in her crib and started to cry pretty hard.
I went over and picked her up, the crying immediately
stopped and she began giggling hysterically. She must have
been thinking, ‘I have you so fooled Mom’.
We have a very early start to a very long day, so I’m
going to keep this short. Thank you all for following our
wonderful journey to our Amazing Grace. We will continue
to post to the website for the next few months. Thanks
also to Jen & Joe (our website hosts) for doing such an
awesome job! |
