It has been 6 months since the day little Xin Jue was placed
into our arms in Nanchang, China. She was so shy and fragile
back then, barely able to roll over or sit up on her own. She
didn’t know how to hold a toy or clap her hands. She ate only
from her bottle and wouldn’t even sit on the floor to play with
her friends. We are so proud of how much progress she has made
in the past 6 months. We constantly marvel at our Amazing Grace
and the amazing God that picked her out to be part of our
family. Grace is such a sweet and happy little girl; she makes
us smile all the time. We are so blessed that her transition and
the attachment has gone so well, and that Grace is such an easy
baby. Grace is now 18 months old. She is up to 22.6lbs and 31
inches. She has gained 5lbs and grown 2 inches since we have
been home.
Grace continues to develop really well. She is very close to
walking on her own now. She can take 5-6 steps on her own, as
long as one of us is close by to catch her. Grace has her four
front teeth and one molar. She is doing so much better with
eating. Her favorite foods are hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and
Grammy’s pasta with meat sauce. We are enjoying seeing her
little personality develop more and more everyday!
Christian’s recovery is slow, but going pretty well. We are both
back to work full time now, and both working from home. It has
been really nice for Grace to have so much time with Daddy- he
is her best playmate. We have done some really fun things with
Grace close to home, trips to the park and to the farm, metro
rides and lots of walks in her little pink car. Grace was
baptized this month at St Mark’s Church in Vienna, VA. Auntie
Tricia and Uncle Steve, Grace’s Godparents, shared in the
special day with us. Grace and Mommy also had a great trip to NJ
to meet Grace’s newest girl cousin on Mommy’s side, Julia
Francesca. Grace really enjoyed playing with all of her cousins,
and they were very sweet to her. She also got to meet Mommy’s
high school friends’ kiddies too! We did not make it to the
beach, but Grace did have the chance to swim with Joey and Ryan. |
