November 2008
This was a tough month to select pictures- we had so much fun at
so many different places in October! We took a road trip to NJ
for Grace’s cousin Julia’s baptism. We enjoyed spending a few
days with Grammy and Poppi and seeing lots of family at the
baptism party. Grace was jamming on the dance floor with the
rest of the kids. Her older cousins (all boys) really look after
her- it’s very sweet. We even got in a music class and a
playdate with Grace’s future husband, Matthew and Kara’s high
school friends & their kids. After NJ, we headed to PA to visit
the McCartys. Grace met her McCarty great grandparents for the
first time. Vince & Kitty McCarty are 92 and 94 and have been
married for 69 years and are amazing. Grace danced all over
while Great Grandpa played his accordion and then Grace even got
a ride in Grandpa’s motorized scooter. Later in the month, we
flew to Atlanta for Christian’s 20 year high school reunion. We
rented a beautiful house in the North Georgia mountains, in the
very scenic area where Christian grew up. We had a great time
relaxing at the ‘cabin’ while we had lots of family and friends
visit. Grace also got to meet her Great Grandma Ford and her
fiancé. Yes, you read that right. Christian’s maternal
grandmother, who is 83, is getting married this week, to a
handsome and distinguished fellow named Ken. We will not be able
to make it to the wedding since we were just in GA, but we did
get most of the details about the event, the ceremony, the
reception and the honeymoon. They are going all out! We had our
close friends from Atlanta come stay for the weekend with their
2 boys, Parker and Matthew (our godson). We had lots more family
and friends stop by, so Grace got to see and meet a lot of
people! And the reunion was a blast as well- it’s so nice to see
how old friends can reconnect so easily. Christian was voted
Most Successful and I was so proud of him! Grace did really well
with all the traveling and meeting so many new people.
I think Grace is going to be sad when there are no more pumpkins
around. It seems like she really ‘got’ Halloween, thanks to many
school projects. She even would make a (fake) scared face every
time she saw a witch or a skeleton or a ghost. I think she
really enjoyed being dressed as Minnie and partaking in all of
the festivities- except for eating candy. She is happy to eat
goldfish all day, everyday. Guess she is sweet enough already!
Her sweet personality and great sense of humor keep us laughing
everyday. She wakes up smiling and happily sings Twinkle Twinkle
with Mama as I bring her to bed every night. Yes, we are
blessed. |
